Simply extraordinary and amazing that all he had to go on was pick up a grape without breaking it and picking up a raisin to the mouth without dropping it; and this is what he created.
What a magical mind. -
wow! thanks for sharing this. very high tech and compassionate :)

I love seeing technology help those truly in need.

This is an amazing idea for our deserving Vets!
Here's a free inventive idea I had in environmental needs:..what do you think of this?
I keep thinking how heated and cooled body temperature control units would be so much more efficient than heating or cooling a whole house or vehicle...especially when there are only one or two people in them. If you have an eco friendly nylon type of material suit with good ventilation within the layers..perhaps puffy.. you can allow warm air to circulate..
you can do it a few ways..with heated hoodie type gear they already have these but they are underutilized..few sources for these.
1. One way is to use electric warming pads
2. another way is to allow free air flow in the suit.
this would let you hook up to something like a car vent and the air would warm you up much more quickly than heating th whole vehicle or house.
Another way is this:
When I am trying to sleep I notice that if i am cold I put my head under the covers and this breathing generates enough heat to warm me in seconds. ..after all it is from my 98 f degree body. I could visualize using this method to help warm myself in this vented body suit.
Very low tech in some ways...just using our own breath to warm ourselves like when we naturally blow on our fingers to warm them.
What do you invention enthusiasts think about this?-

I love it when I see a genius mind seriously contributing to the society.
Now we just have to make this available and affordable for our trpoops who have lost an arm. -
Dean Kamen is a genius.
Kamen's inventions show how much good one person can do when they put their words into actions and create products that contribute to human dignity and worldwide peace with justice.
My dream is to see Segway's Stirling Engine producing clean electricity and purifiying water in homes on Indian reservations across the American West, rural HIspanic and Anglo homes in Northern New Mexico, and communities living in poverty with clean water issues across the world.

Destined to be more successful than the segway.
-
The question is will it also be made affordable for the Vets? Or even better, will the government fund it?

He is the reason I think most problems the world has can be solved. He had so little to go on and he solved a monumental problem with hard word, dedication and creativity.

Congrats Dean Kamen! One step closer to Luke's robotic arm.
-
To be able to help someone feel somewhat normal again after a terrible accident is divine intervention. God be with you Dean Kamen.
-
This is why I will never understand the fear of technology. The wonderful uses it can be put to are innumerable.
-
We are coming closer and closer to Luke Skywalker's robotic hand.
One day.-
