Cannabis less dangerous, less addictive than Starbucks lattes

Dr. Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Physician, Toxicologist and Pharmacologist.
http://pr.cannazine.co.uk : The argument for the use of raw cannabis as a medical drug has been rumbling on for literally decades, but successive governments have stuck by their guns, preferring to arrest and incarcerate legitimate cannabis using patients who may be suffering from a multitude of illnesses. Ailments which doctors in other countries such as Holland, the US, Germany, Belgium and Portugal to name only 5, are only to happy to sign a prescription allowing the patient to use cannabis to relieve their condition and symptoms.

Dr Phillip "Dogface" Leveque
According to a practicing physician based in Oregon in the US, a state which legalised cannabis use for medicinal purposes over 9 years ago, "marijuana is less dangerous and addictive than a latte from Starbucks". Which flies in the face of so called "medical experts" and their opinions here in the UK. So who's right and who's telling lies?

  • DEATH TO ALL STARBUCKS!

  • Starbucks is rubish. It's quite fun to sit out front and watch the yuppies though.
  • Starbucks!!!!! Man!, give me a cup of good ole Community dark roast down here in south Louisiana anytime. I ain't never had a Starbucks. Some people just have way too much money for their own good.
My wife was notorious for morning sickness.
But I grew extremely good, pure marijuana derived from the seed of Thai, Nepalese, Columbian and Wohochan and all she'd need was a few puffs every morning and she'd be "cured" for the rest of the day. She didn't do cigs or coffee or colas or pills of any kind, just good old fashioned homegrown. And she had all 3 of our kids naturally and at home. No glitches, no problem, now with 3 beautiful grown kids and 6 grandkids.

  • What a load of nonsense! Okay, I'm not a doctor nor do I have much knowledge of medicine, and I didn't do very well in science at school either, but the argument is flawed. Starbucks coffee's maybe more addictive and dangerous but that's probably due to the fact more people enjoy a few too many coffee's than a joint every day. If this argument originated in Super Sized America, I'm not surprised the high-fat latte is coming under suspicion, and I'm sure the same people are saying the MacDonald's hamburger is more dangerous than cannabis. Too much fat might give you a heart attack by the time you're 50, but at least the non-joint smoker would remember it instead of the smoker who would be so paranoid, spaced-out, unable to breathe properly, and suffering from recurring panic attacks that they'd welcome hospitalization!
  • ... please don't give your pregnant wife dope to smoke, that is stupid, maybe put it in some tea.

  • Haha. Not sure I buy it all but I will ask you to visit a Starbucks in a morning - the same people are all there. No question it looks like junkies outside a crack house.

  • Strange!!!!!!!!! Whatttt!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to try to comment on a few of your comments that I'm having a hard time with.
I have no prob with Starbucks. I just never bought any cause I'm sure my Community coffee is better and costs me a whole lot less. And coffee is good for you anyway. It's probably all the extras that go into it, just like tobacco. Grow your own and roll your own and there'd probably be no problem. It's the 101 other additives the cig companies put in their products that get you. And as far as McD, and the others, how can they sell a big ole burger for a dollar unless the ingredients are cheap, cheap, cheap, which translates into not worth very much. Tastes dang good though, huh?
There's absolutely nothing harmful about cannabis, unless of course you smoke the paraquat sprayed, by our government, variety, or you get apprehended by the authorities and they rip you off and throw you in jail.
The paranoia associated with pot would evaporate if it were legal.
And I've probably smoked as much high grade stuff and anyone and I breathe just fine, in fact, much better than when I was a kid with severe asthma with a dad that smoked a box of cigars a week and living in the middle of sugarcane fields that they burned once a year. And I can't remember ever having a panic attack. And my mind works just fine. I'm a mailman and I'm constantly running into people who will introduce themself in some manner and I can add info, like their address or some significant feature about their house or their car or their dog or their name. Could virtually be called a photographic memory, not diminished one bit by pounds and kilos of hash and pot and opium and a little coke and heroin in the lungs.
Again, it's all in the person. A person who takes good care of the health, with help from God of course, can do a lot of things others who don't take care of themselves can do. I've always eaten dang good food and drank lots of water and got lots of exercise and utilized my brain every chance i've gotten.
I have had arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis virtually my whole life and I can assure you, nothing and I mean nothing, eases the pain and helps you function better than a good joint without interfering in any way whatsoever with you necessary functions. I used to drive a tractortrailer over the Autobahn for the post office and American Express all the while high on the very best hashish, up and down the mountains, through snow blizzards, bobtailing sometimes, sometimes with several million in cash in the van, doing a hundred mph going down and 10 going up, praying not to get any slower, and never, ever in my life have I ever caused one dollar of damage or injury to anyone, and I've been driving for 45 years.
Some people can and some people can't!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't penalize me for the inadaquacies of others.

Don't let her smoke it but it's OK to drink it???????
My wife had 3 babies, born naturally at home and breast fed all 3 for 2 years each and the only "drug" she ever did during those 8+ years of her life was my super special homegrown and everybody seems to have come out of it all just fine. Another case of her being very healthy, eating right, exercising properly, getting lots of liquids, no junk food, coffee or colas, getting lots of fresh air, along with having a wonderfully loving relationship with someone who always deeply cared for her. Smoking a little pot and being relaxed and calm and being able to go through the day is much better than having all day sickness, looking and feeling like s**t all day and wanting to take some sort of "legal medication."

I'm sure they're great, along with all those other fancy named coffees. I'm happy for you, really. I'm sure that if I had one, I'd love it. I love just about everything that's edible or drinkable. I just happen to be good with my Community dark roast with a tad of real sugar and a dash of whole milk, probably about 5 cups every morning. Actually, only 2 or 3, but my cups are pretty dang big. And I can drink a couple at 8pm-ish, rarely do I though, and be sound asleep at 10.
I'm just not the kind of person that spends very much money at fast food and drink places. It's like everything else in my life I reckon. I rather do it myself, do it for cheaper, with higher quality ingredients and wayyyy relax doing it in the comfort of home. A lot of people wouldn't be in business if it were up to consumers like me. Sorry about that.

I'm sure I'd enjoy it to the hilt, if the situation came up. I've been to the I-Hop here once and it was simply marvelous. But hey, you ought to try my homemade, thin, big pancakes, filled with home jarred juicy fig preserves and chopped pecans and rolled up, with a little extra (OK, a lot) fig syrup poured over the top, along with a fresh brewed cup of the Community Coffee so famous down here south of New Orleans.
