The second open movie created with the open source 3D content creation suite Blender, is now available as free download to everybody!

"Big Buck Bunny tells the story of a giant rabbit with a heart bigger than himself. When one sunny day three rodents rudely harass him, something snaps... and the rabbit ain't no bunny anymore! In the typical cartoon tradition he prepares the nasty rodents a comical revenge".

Their website is suffering from huge traffic at the moment. Though you can view it in HD Resolution at Vimeo.com. Once the site is back up you can download the movie in resolutions up to 1080P FOR FREE! It's truly amazing what people can accomplish when the come together just for the love of creativity. Way to go to all who contributed!

  • I've watched this like 5 times already.. The quality and consisiency of the production is truly first class. Combine that with the entire production taking place over the web, and that the software is free as well. Boy, it's stuff like this that makes me love tech and the web.

    btw.. I tried to invite all my friends to see the animation and realized I added everyone as a credit. I have edited that. If you are a friend of YMM here, and you got a notification for that, I apologize. I am still getting used to the interface here. 8-) PEBCAK (Problem exists between chair and keyboard)
