  • Scince the truman years the government has felt thneed to keep the truth from the normal person for fear that it would destroy our society if we knew the truth.
    Toughth
  • The U.S. government is concerned about admitting knowledge of UFO's because they are still trying to keep our government involvement( for 50 years) with extraterrestrials.

  • IS this more HAARP music? I dunnno... lots of talk floating around about US is next to get a Big One. A little pre-election chaos would be handy for the republicorp.

  • maybe we are just a little to comfortable. time for some serious change .they have been probably documenting earth and its changes since genesis. so they most likely will document the fall of so called humanity.

  • @twodee.... just off the top of my head, this guy is a moron.

a billion watts of microwaves is a lot, but the total energy is miniscule, because the duration is very short. it takes

this guy could be president of a world-wide conspiracy theory group.

    from.... http://www.physicsforums.com/archive/index.php/t-15422....

"The HAARP Ionospheric Research facility will be a major Arctic facility for conducting upper atmospheric research. The facility will consist of two essential parts:

A high power transmitter and antenna array operating in the High Frequency (HF) range. When complete, the transmitter will be capable of producing up to 3.6 million Watts to an antenna system consisting of 180 crossed dipole antennas arranged as a rectangular, planar array.

A complete and extensive set of scientific instruments for observation of both the background auroral ionosphere and of the effects produced during active research using the transmitter system. Output from these instruments will be combined into an integrated data package which will be available world-wide in near real time over the internet.

During active ionospheric research, the signal generated by the transmitter system is delivered to the antenna array, transmitted in an upward direction, and is partially absorbed, at an altitude between 100 to 350 km (depending on operating frequency), in a small volume a few hundred meters thick and a few tens of kilometers in diameter over the site. The intensity of the HF signal in the ionosphere is less than 3 microwatts per cm2, tens of thousands of times less than the Sun's natural electromagnetic radiation reaching the earth and hundreds of times less than even the normal random variations in intensity of the Sun's natural ultraviolet (UV) energy which creates the ionosphere. The small effects that are produced, however, can be observed with the sensitive scientific instruments installed at the HAARP facility and these observations can provide new information about the dynamics of plasmas and new insight into the processes of solar-terrestrial interactions."

it wouldn't cook an egg, let alone trigger an earthquake.

this is pseudo-science tomfoolery. you and believe it and tell stories and in the end, be a fool along with others.

    bon voyage....

  • Are Mexico's aliens legal or illegal? And didn't Macbeth suffer hallucinations from a guilty conscience?

  • good question Hawk. Plusat, That guy may be kinda out there on this. I can't say I know much about this HAARP thing or this guy. Interesting and odd stuff worth thinking about. I am not a fan of writing something off as quick and often as you do here.

  • @twodee....

    sometimes i do, sometimes i don't...

example: when the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case opened in Durham, my first comment was, "we won't know anything resembling the truth for 6-12 months."

but when the HAARP stuff popped up, the "engineer in me" immediately noted that a billion watts IS A LOT OF POWER.... but if the duration is one microsecond, you've got about 1000 Watt-seconds... which, if you did it 60 or 120 times in a row, would bring one cup of water from room temperature to just about boiling point.

:)))) sometimes quick is ok, too....

  • how fast is lightning?

A stroke of lightning discharges up to several hundred million volts of electricity and produces a current up to several hundred thousand amperes. (Volts and amperes are measures of electricity.) In an average lightning stroke there are 30,000 amperes. By way of comparison, 240 volts and a current of 1 ampere flow through a 100-watt light bulb.

  • Many people are aware of the comments President Ronald Reagan made at the
UN regarding the threat from aliens from other planets.

    But few have
heard the alien comments he made during a speech at the Fallston High School in
Fallston Md in December 4, 1985 until now. Apparently he discussed aliens with General Secretary Gorbachev in private.

  • twodee,
The video you posted about HAARP is disturbing yet compelling.

I think it would be great to see this video re-posted as a new story, with more facts about HAARP.

It makes me wonder about Katrina...
  • @dwodee... are you asking me how fast lightning is? the duration of an "average stroke"??? a fraction of a second... maybe a few tenths at most, i'd venture...

yes, there's a TON [figuratively] of energy delivered... enough to light up clouds and sky and earth AND create the sound of thunder audible for miles around the stroke.

and the refererence you quote and link is wrong.
240 volts [ac, rms] across a 100 watt bulb will result in about 1/2.4 amps, NOT 1 amp. P=EI; I=P/E=100/240
    ~~0.42 amps.

and, again, i was talking about power AND energy.

"A stroke of lightning discharges up to several hundred million volts of electricity and produces a current up to several hundred thousand amperes. (Volts and amperes are measures of electricity.) In an average lightning stroke there are 30,000 amperes. By way of comparison, 240 volts and a current of 1 ampere flow through a 100-watt light bulb."
is just fine.. you can get even better numbers at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning#Properties_of_li... ....

where you'll see that "An average bolt of lightning carries a electric current of 40 kiloamperes (kA) (although some bolts can be up to 120 kA), and transfers a charge of five coulombs and 500 MJ."

a coulomb = one ampere flowing for ONE SECOND.
the five coulombs of current [electrons] are delivered at a rate of 40,000 amperes.

1 coulomb is the amount of electric charge transported by a current of 1 ampere in 1 second.

    Q[coulombs]=IxT [current times time]... so T=Q/I ...

    still with me?

5/40,000 [coulombs/amps]= 1/8,000 of a second!!!!! one ampere = one coulomb PER SECOND... which is roughly what goes through a 100w bulb with 110 volts [NOT 220 or 240] across it.

500 MEGAJOULES [MJ] of energy!!!! WOW... sounds big, doesn't it...

" joule is approximately equal to: 2.7778 ×10−7 kilowatt hour ...."

500MJ= roughly 13,889 times a thousand watts for one hour... cranking again, that's enough to light a 100 watt bulb for.... 138,000 hours, right?

that would be a wonderful source of energy if humans had any prayer of capturing it in that 1/8,000th of a second that is its duration!

  • crap...that is lots of numbers. This is not my field of understanding and knowledge. You sound like you have a pretty good head about this stuff. That does not, however, stop me from wondering what they are doing with HAARP. Not that I have any solid position on it. But there is enough there to keep it in my radar.
    twodee
  • sorry, twodee... didn't mean to overwhelm, but i do have a rather rusty old degree in electrical engineering from a pretty good college... Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY... and practiced some part of that trade for about 34 years before retiring...

the HAARP system's reference in wikipedia includes a few that are pretty easy to understand...

"The intensity of the HF signal in the ionosphere is less than 3 µW/cm², tens of thousands of times less than the Sun's natural electromagnetic radiation reaching the earth and hundreds of times less than even the normal random variations in intensity of the Sun's natural ultraviolet (UV) energy which creates the ionosphere."

    and...

"After the physicists raised early concerns, the controversy was stoked by local activism. In September 1995, a book entitled Angels Don't Play This HAARP: Advances in Tesla Technology by the former teacher Nick Begich, Jr., son of the late Congressman Nick Begich, claimed that the project in its present stage could be used for "geophysical warfare." The HAARP has subsequently become a target for those who have suggested that it could be used to test the ability "to deliver very large amount of energy, comparable to a nuclear bomb, anywhere on earth," changing weather patterns, blocking all global communications, disrupting human mental processes and mind control, causing earthquakes, and "x-raying" the earth. These claims are generally disregarded by scientists and those involved with the project as being completely baseless." ... although that one doesn't have a good citation yet...

    and finally,

    HAARP's supporters ...
The critics' views have been rejected by the HAARP's defenders, who have pointed out that the amount of energy at the project's disposal is minuscule compared to the colossal energies dumped into the atmosphere by solar radiation and thunderstorms. A University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute scientist has compared the HAARP to an "immersion heater in the Yukon River."

Since the ionosphere is inherently a chaotically turbulent region, HAARP's defenders state any artificially induced changes would be "swept clean" within seconds or minutes at the most. Ionospheric heating experiments performed at the Arecibo Observatory's ionospheric heater and incoherent scatter radar have shown that after periods of modification (up to an hour), the ionosphere returns to normal within about the same period of time it had been heated.

For instance, HAARP generates 3.6 megawatts (MW) of power. 3.6 MW is considered a minuscule percentage of the energy compared to all of the energy constantly injected into the Earth, and the ionosphere, by the sun.

Furthermore, supporters of HAARP argue that its activities have been, since its establishment, extremely open. All activities are logged and publicly available. Scientists without security clearances, even foreign nationals, are routinely allowed on site. The HAARP facility regularly hosts open houses, during which time any civilian may tour the entire facility. Many people see this as a sign that the facility is not engaging in the type of extremely questionable research that is suggested by many critics."

    just some data for you...

    enjoy!

    sometimes math is important... :)))))

  • 2nd video is a must see.
    keithponder
  • keithponder, if you're talking about the second video on this page, there are so many scientific misstatements and downright fallacies in the presentation that it would be a great "junk science" exhibit.

the numbers are startling and scary, but if you go up three or more posts to some of the numbers and links i've presented, they blow some ionispheric-sized holes in his arguments.

what you're seeing there is what FoxNews would be telling you, or the scientific illiterates at the Associated Press, for whom scientific knowledge is only lower than their grammar skills.

wikipedia has better information, as do many other sites.

and for the record, the amount of energy released by a hurricane absolutely dwarfs anything HAARP could come up with. do the math.

THIS IS WHY IT IS important to learn math in school.

if you don't, people like him can mislead the crap out of you.

    "ANNOUNCEMENT

DR. STEVEN GREER AND THE DISCLOSURE PROJECT

    DENVER PRESENTATION

    WEDNESDAY JULY 9, 2008

    7:30 PM

Steven M. Greer MD, the founder and director of The Disclosure Project www.DisclosureProject.org will be in Denver CO on July 9, 2008 at Turnhalle in the Tivoli.

Dr. Greer will be presenting a summary of over 500 government, military, intelligence and corporate witnesses to UFO events and projects and will be discussing the implications of the issue. Dr. Greer, who has personally briefed heads of state, members of Congress, a sitting CIA Director and other senior government officials on the UFO matter will provide an overview of the subject and expose the reasons behind the continuing secrecy.

Key to this secrecy is the existence of Unacknowledged Special Access Projects (USAPs) that operate outside of Presidential and Congressional oversight and that are beholden to special interests in the corporate, financial and energy sectors.

The energy and propulsion systems used by so-called UFOs (or extraterrestrial vehicles) has been studied for over 60 years using taxpayer funds and the disclosure of this vital information would completely replace the need for oil, gas, coal and nuclear power.

Dr. Greer states that “In light of the growing energy and environmental crisis, it is imperative that the people of the United States know the truth and work to see that full Disclosure occurs as soon as possible. The mistake of classifying as top secret this information in the 1940s and 1950s has now resulted in a genuine world emergency that requires the thoughtful attention of every concerned citizen.”

Mr. Jeff Peckman, who is heading up the Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission Denver ballot initiative, will also be present and make a brief presentation on that project.

The presentation is open to the media and public.

A nominal admission fee of $5.00 will be collected to cover expenses.
