  • Nothing at this point in time would shock me about what ploys our government here in the U.S. is up to anymore.

  • Thanks to Gorge, Karl and the gang nothing anyone comes up with is even arguable anymore. We're pretty much guilty as charged on all counts.

  • I believe that it true thats why they are raising the oil and gas prices towards the U.S. This is only the beginning of what is about to come out on our NEW Black President. Once the U.S. pull out of their country they are going to really start a war, the Iraqee's are going to get into the country in coffins, diguised Soldiers and more... THats the real reason why the U.S. hasn't pulled out and are not coming home safely!

I suppose this makes sense. With a traveling base, the government can avoid any chances of anyone stumbling across their atrocious acts.

  • I'm sure and probably reporters that got out of hand and American citizens that caused the administration trouble too.
  • The United States is just weaving a web that will strangle us all. At the same time there is no safe place in this world. All countries are failing in one way or another. No one has the right answers and everyone thinks they do. Too much ego and not enough let go.

  • I don't think the international community will ever be able to view Americans without discontent until they see us all unite and bring down those leaders who are responsible for all this crap.

Because, right now, it just looks like we are LETTING them do it.

  • That's not funny Clay, and if you are serious you have more problems than can ever be fixed.

This is just more disturbing news. But, I think that this has gone on way more than just now being reported.

  • What's next? Torturing people on Mars?!!

  • If I was a sailor and I saw a ship obviously loaded with bombs coming towards me, I would do all I can to either sink it or capture it. Truth is, prisoners on our ships probably have it better on there than they do in their own homes. And they definitely have it better than US POWs have had it on enemy ships throughout history. Japan would shackle American sailors and throw them into the sea to drown in World War II.
    mrpibb19
  • But they have no rights on these ships. There are no lawyers and they are being held only by suspicion. If were going to profile the rest of the world then why not try it in our airports and streets? Thats not the way our country is supposed to work.

  • I'm not surprised at all.

  • I wonder how many of these terrorist suspects are found to be innocent, and even then they’re stuck out on a ship.

  • Out of Sight Out of Mind!

  • Their probably protecting Saddam in one of those ships.Id put money on it.

  • People are so blind to the things we do abroad! But it is ok to hide people wherever! We dont want these guys to attack our local supermarket remember! As long as we are fighting terrorists our quality of living will be great! Cheap gas , Food and energy thats what its all about!
    Jtonio4823
  • It's called "extraordinary rendition"
    Quiggles
  • Ingenious. Something tells me that the UN is going to be making a few surprise inspections on your local destroyers.
    Dmitri_Molotov
  • Hmmm, not Americans being held on prison ships = don't give a rats ass. I can safely say that every country that the US has helped in the past during natural disasters, wars, or any other incident that is now crying needs to find a new hobby, I'd suggest a nice game of "hide and go fuck yourselves".
  • Abu Ghraib the cruise ship! Zero days and endless nights of food, fun, and torture!
    pigmonkey
  • Do you people also side with extremists when an American is captured and detained by a terrorist organization? C'mon! stop trying to be so kind and compassionate, the truth is, we're in a war, whether you like it or not, all military personel must protect themselves from the threats they run into.
    mrpibb19
  • mrpibb, you speak of good treatment for these Prisoner's of War, how can you be sure? if that were the case, my conscience would be eased, as I think would many other americans. but we can't know that they are not being tortured or worse because of the willingness to torture that this administration has showed. there is not transparency, only deception. you spoke of world war 2, during that war our soldiers were treated very brutally, beaten and often broken, yet we did not visit that same kind of devastation upon our captured enemies. we rebuilt europe, we didn't break it. that, i think, is what made us the better nation.

neutralizing and capturing an enemy to protect the troops and torturing some one who is in custody are two different things. just because they do it to our soldiers doesn't make it right for us to do it to them. I don't see how the death of 8,000+ (including war dead and 9/11 victims) justifies the killing of tens, maybe a hundred-thousand of their people.

you are making an accusation that is really untenable, suggesting that we support terror because we oppose this war. we oppose this war because we want to fight all kinds of terror, including that which our government inflicts on Iraqis, including the terror that family members of armed forces members feel everyday, worrying that they'll get that call.

  • Maybe the US Military is thinking about becoming Scientologist...
    TyMarshal
  • I wonder how will the Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly's of our US media defend this one?

  • People in America are so QUICK to forget 9/11/01 it's RIDICULOUS !!!! If you think the way that Barak Obama is going to run the country is going to be any better ...You have a BIG PROBLEM. If he get's in he is going to be so overwhelmed with the job ..He's a FRESHMEN Senator !!!! He wants us to have talks with Rouge Nations ....Like Bush said ..He thinks he's going to talk and debate with these madmen and suddenly they are going to see that there "thinking is wrong " GET REAL !!!
    pdm1968
  • pdm,

Ummm- it was the previous Bush administration who "talked" with Saddam and armed him, so NO Obama will NOT do that for rogue nations. You would do well to recall that is was our own CIA who funded, trained and armed Bin laden. So let's hope Obama has seen the light of the wrong way to handle foreign affairs.

Because Obama is a freshman, he has LEARNED from others mistakes. Learning the lessons history teaches does NOT require 'experience'- they require an INTELLIGENT mind- which Obama clearly has...
    kennyJ
  • talking with someone does not necessarily mean negotiations, nor does it mean that you condone their actions.

pdm, do you know Obama? like, really know him? if not, how can you know what he'll do? i guess you could be his bff or something but I doubt it.
    spoonieday
  • Ummm, spoonie, DO YOU KNOW OBAMA? Are you his BFF? Or are you simply spewing some prepared speech he posted on his website ushering in the new millenium in politics? Come on, get real moron, NO ONE KNOWS WTF OBAMA IS REALLY ALL ABOUT. Who gives a shit if the guy can give "nice" speeches, he brings NOTHING to the table to back up his prophecies that he is the second coming of Christ himself.
  • This country is becoming TOO LIberal. Crying about some Radical Extremists in a Prison on a Ship ??? It beats them being on your NEXT AIRPLANE TRIP RIGHT ? Or do they have RIGHTS too ?
    pdm1968
  • What has Barak learned ?? Quit your church after they spew vile racist rants for year and years and YOU Knew NOTHING about it or never heard it ?? Hang with Former freedom fighter homegrown terriorists ?? He's learned to become a politician just like ther rest of them. Go to his web site and you'll see he plans on ALOT of his changes to be in place by 2030 ??? 2030 Be real !!!
    pdm1968
  • We will NEVER be safe if we IGNORE the Constitution, the rule of law and the principles of JUSTICE that make this country great- You are welcome to interpret this as meaning "giving rights" to terrorists- But you could NOT be farther from REALITY... Good luck!
    kennyJ
  • It's a NEW WORLD ...If your just figuring that out ...IT Has been since 9/11/01 ...Wake UP !!! Everybody has forgotten this .....We are a Nation at WAR but a nation divided. That's sad.
    pdm1968
  • Who the hell flagged my comment about torture at Club Gitmo the tropical get away from the stress of Jihad?

Free prayer rug and Koran, complimentary of George Bush

  • It's a new world NOT because America has industrious enemies- We have ALWAYS had them- not so long ago the Russian Government was a far GREATER threat than religious extremists are today, and they had 1000's of nuclear weapons at the time!

Back at the founding of our country, Great Britain was a far worse enemy than todays religious extremists, and there was NO technology to protect us- and yet in either time in our history- the rule of law and the Constitution were honored- NOT ignored!

What makes it a "new world" is that we can LEARN from the mistakes of our fore fathers and also apply their wisdom.

You might consider that the Republican talking points you are regurgitating are OUT of SYNCH with the facts on the ground. No wonder you still trust the Bush administration.

I do agree- we are a nation divided- Those with their eyes OPEN, and those who apparently are unable or unwilling to do so...
    kennyJ
  • Although your statement was perfect in punctuation and grammar, it is more out of touch with America than you think.

Your statement is a photo copy of the current.com-california ideology, and imo is out of touch with at least the people from Texas.

Can i not be castrated for just saying that, and have some actual debate
    clayjj05
  • You Americans certainly are a nation divided and you are divorcing yourselves from the rest of the world. My only worry is who gets custody of the planet? The rest of the world may be well and truly fucked up but there is a desire there to do something about it rather than just watch it fall apart on your televisions.

  • So by your logic a non uniformed, non geneva convention signatory enemy should be privy to the same protections as those countries who do have a uniformed military and abide by the geneva conventions? THAT is what causes terrorism, giving these people a free pass because they are willing to hide amongst an innocent civilian population cannot and will not end their tactics. Sometimes you just have to send a bigger bully when fighting a bully, they won't always sit down at the negotiating table.

    Peace through superior firepower!
