  • Questions for Nick Stahl:

    1. During the time you spent in a wheelchair in front of the camera and behind the camera while researching for the Quid Pro Quo role, in your own observation, what was the biggest misconception that you noticed or realized about people who use a wheelchair? After doing this role, experiencing and spending time in a wheelchair, did you yourself by any chance have certain attitudes/ideas change from what you maybe once had thought, regarding people who use a wheelchair or who are physically disabled?

    2. I have not seen Quid Pro Quo, but I'm definately intrigued by it, and I'm especially eagar to see your performance. I'm a big fan of your acting, and I commend you on the path that you've taken in your film career! Are there any actors/actresses in the film, who were actual wheelchair users/amputees/paraplegics? If not, was it ever considered or discussed, since it would have added and helped to give a more realistic portrayal?

    3. Will Quid Pro Quo be released in theatres in Canada (fingers crossed)?

    4. In general, how have people in wheelchairs, and people of this particular unique subculture reacted or voiced their opinions towards this film?

    5. If you could choose any novel or book from any author to be made into a film (to either act in, direct, or produce yourself), which book/novel would you choose and why?

    6. Out of your entire film career thus far, has there by any chance been a particular role which was the most challenging or difficult for you to portray or do? If so, can you maybe elaborate as to how or why it was challenging?

Personally speaking as a woman who uses a wheelchair, I'd just like to comment that there has been somewhat of a lack of Hollywood movies made and roles portraying people like myself who use a wheelchair or who have a physical disability--a lack especially of female roles. I'd just like to add that any type of portrayal of a person in a wheelchair like in this movie, is making progress and hopefully will only mean more movies in the future portraying the physically disabled. It would especially be groundbreaking, if more men and women actors with physical disabilities and who use a wheelchair, would be hired to act in more leading and supporting roles in films!

Thank you for your time, and all the best to you Nick!

  • Nick, what can you tell us about the independent movie you just finished filming in Virginia? I know it co-stars Jonathan Jackson but that's all I know!
