A group of representatives of Russian sexual minorities gather in central Moscow to demand equal rights and protest what they call the "homophobic" policy of Moscows mayor. The demonstration however was illegal and led to several arrests. Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov has opposed any sort of gay rights efforts and has been quoted relating a gay parade to being on par with a "satanic event."
