  • LOL nice picture, this is actually very interesting! So I can stop breast cancer AND shrink my brain with the same doobie?
  • I've heard weed has alot of good uses. Heck just ask the average Californian who has a medical perscription for the usage of it.

  • the miracle drug strikes again

  • i hope the get on the extraction of this chemical...i feel like taking decades to get this into cancer patients is going to encourage the desperate ones to smoke.

but good for them for taking something that is seen as negative and finding good in it.

plus, smoking anything can't be good for a cancer patient, so using marijuana in a medical way without the inhalation of smoke is always a good thing.

  • Wow.Some positive propoganda for a change. Maybe the use of medical marijuana will spread to other states in this nation.

  • Well you could always eat it in a cookie! Also there may be some things that it is beneficial to smoke.....

Mullein for example....good for respiratory problems and used to be smoked for asthma to relax the lungs....

  • SNOOGINS! Who's that chick? Yum.

  • missamanda, smoking can bevery good for cancer patients if they can't eat or swallow pills. my father had chemo and radiation for several months and could not eat anything. we thought that he was going to die but when he started smoking again, he became happy and started to eat. it was so awesome. weed saved his life and it was his doctors that told him to smoke. these aren't hippie doctors, but doctors from a respected cancer research facility.

weed is not a carcinogen in the lungs, in fact it has anti-carcinogenic properties. this is in sharp contrast to nicotine which is in and of itself carcinogenic.

  • Cannabis extracts have been known to cure other forms of cancer as well. I did research recently, and found a very interesting 7 - part video on youtube.com, in which a man makes a topical solution (and since it is all 100% natural matter it is also ingestible) that is applied to the cancerous area of the skin. Anyone who is interested in the many medical benefits that cannabis contains please go to www.youtube.com/chrychek there are also several other websites and medical journal excerpts which I have bookmarked if anyone is seriously interested in stopping this propaganda for our governments monetary gain and getting the truth out there to the general public (just email me sensi420irie@yahoo.com )

  • And in response to spoonieday yes cannabis has been found time and time again to have anti-carcinogenic properties. So next time your government tells you how weed is harmful to smoke because the smoke itself contains near the same amount of tar and carcinogens as cigarettes, just remember how it is all irrelevant because the anti-carcinogenic properties disallow all of the harmful toxins from being absorbed into the lungs.... Funny how they never give an unbiased opinion huh? So it really isnt that bad to smoke, just like anything else its all about moderation...but we as americans seem to not know what that is anymore.... although the tar that lightly coats the lungs and causes that morning chronic cough is still a small issue lol... but oh well!!!!
    sensi420irie
  • yeah, i never let the government do my thinking for me. i mean, who are the idiots, the stoners or the people who came up with "No Child Left Behind?" which leaves a good chunk of children far behind with no hope of ever catching up. (just one example of extreme ineptitude on the administration's part)

vaporizing is the best way to go, or eating brownies...

  • I believe in using it, but not smoking it.

  • I believe in santa. does santa like pot?
    onechance
  • santa loves pot, you've seen how fat and jolly he is

vaporizing does not equal smoking. it burns only the good stuff, not the plant material. you are left with all of that still in the wand or chamber (or whatever the method)

  • Another reason to let it be medical across the US
    Not_Doody
  • It is the mircale drug, but this article is another reason why marijuana will never get legalized in America. Do you think the pharmaceutical companies that profit off of sick and dying people will want you to grow your own medicine?
    cerealforeal
  • It's a good day for medicine. I hope the scientists keep up the good work!
  • I agree with Not_Doody. It's another reason why medical marijuana should be legal.
  • There is a book which answers the questions associated with cannabis/hemp. The book is 'The Emperor Wears No Clothes' by, Jack Herer.

    http://www.jackherer.com/chapters.html

'The Emperor Wears No Clothes' can be read free on the web. The 'FACTS' are amazing. Parts of history that we didn't hear in school. A plant which has so many medicinal purposes. A plant which has so many environmental benefits. A plant that could replace oils and help farmers.

A plant that can help 'The Many', being denied conversation for financial gain for 'The Few'! There is no reason to hide facts, especially of a plant that tracks back further than 'law' it's self! Cannabis/Hemp is not ‘just a drug’ and to limit it’s abilities to the ‘drug war’ is almost immoral.

If you ever find you have some spare time, visit http://www.jackherer.com/chapters.html it is full of facts and footnotes. The book has actual copies of government documents which are contrary to what we were taught (or not taught) in school. If one takes the time to read the facts, it’s impossible to listen to the spin. You know the facts. You want to hear why the facts are false. It’s a taboo subject and people feel financially threatened by talking about it. Employment is contingent on being able to pee. They are so serious in their effort to stop the conversation; they can check your urine. The bottom line is, your urine has more power than your capabilities. Now that’s power.

  • I want to smoke a fat one in celebration. Haha.

  • I wish that we could finally put an end to all this controversy. One minute maijuana is good, the next it's bad... no wonder people are confused.

I personally don't think people should be smoking it, but I don't think that people should be smoking anything, so maybe I'm biased.

  • when will they finally agree to legalize this miracle drug?

it has so many benefits that can save our planet.

  • It is great to see more and more studies being conducted on marijuana that reveal its positive effects on a vast number of ailments and illnesses.

The propaganda introduced in the early 20th century educated the general public on information pioneered from racial and social class discrimination instead of scientifically observed facts.

Hopefully the general public will realize the positivity of the plant and the trend of decriminalization for medicinal use will continue to spread.

  • Just a note guys, you can't smoke enough of canabis to cure breast cancer. Only the pill form can be concentrated enough in dosage. But we won't get the wonders of this plant's lifesaving compounds if we continue to view it as an illegal drug. Legalize it, I say!
  • Herb is the future of holistic medicine.
    jubal
  • The 'facts' are out there. With the power of the Internet, history is at our fingertips. Once you read the facts, it makes cannabis/hemp a whole new plant. It's not 'just for potheads' anymore.

If people decide to talk about the issue, stay tuned to mainstream media. Stories will come out about things like three boys digging up a body, taking off the head, so they could make a bong from the skull. The real story wasn't the pot, or the bong. It was dysfunctional boys, doing a criminal act.

Sounded kinda like 'Reefer Madness' to me. Linking dysfunction to cannabis? ‘Yellow Journalism’?

Seriously, though, I would like to see more studies done here - if this is a reality it could do wonders to save lives.

  • Well, it IS an herb. Most herbs make great cures, so it can be expected that marijuana would do the same. I think medicinal (sp?) use of marijuana should be studied further, as well as the possibility of healing through other drugs. Who knows...the
