Whitney Stump was arrested in July of 2007 for vandalism. What he vandalized was a neighborhood intersection, by painting a crosswalk for pedestrians.

Ha nice vid! We need more people like you in our community! Not just thinking for themselves but for everyone.
-
He should win a citizen of the year award!
Who needs city hall when you have citizens who take personal responsibility to care for their neighborhood?
I'm sure he is protecting his neighbors (without recognition), at a lot cheaper a cost than getting 4-5 government workers to paint some stripes on the road. -
it's sad that he might get prosecuted for painting a cross walk on a busy street...
yup, let's make sure we take care of the real criminals-

I love this story! Great way to stand up for your community! I live in Atlanta and there is nothing more frustrating than drivers who fail to obey the simple rules of crosswalks. I love your determination to stand your ground!
Please post an update to the story once the trial is over, I'd love to hear what happens next!
Great pod.-

Excellent pod. I agree with mexisurfer, this one begs to get a follow up. Beaurocracy can be stifling, but it's most frustrating when it fails to deliver on a specific need of a community.
When it comes to stuff like this, intent should outweigh everything else. Hopefully reason will prevail. -
ridiculous, he should be pressing charges!

This is a true example of how sometimes rules and regulations meant to protect us end up hurting us in the long run. Its something to ponder. How can we change legislature to the point where it serves its purpose without getting in the way of whats meant for the better good.
