One of the most hotly debated and divisive social issues of the past few decades has been whether to allow openly gay men and lesbians to serve in the U.S. military. See the New York premiere of "Ask Not," a new documentary that explores the impact of 1993’s "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring filmmaker Johnny Symons, military analysts and several former soldiers, like Alex Nicholson, who have been discharged for speaking out about their sexual orientation. Moderated by Andrew Jacobs, New York Times Metro reporter.
