US Patent 7291944 - Electromagnetic engine
US Patent Issued on November 6, 2007
The electromagnetic engine operates by having the solenoids receive input power from an external electrical power source and providing output power to the output shaft. The magnets include four outer magnets and four inner magnets. The inner magnets have magnetic forces that oppose the magnetic forces of the outer magnets. Electrical power provided to the solenoids causes the solenoids to oscillate the outer magnets. Springs provide stability and assist the solenoids.
Once the electromagnetic motor has reached operating speed, it generates sufficient electrical energy to continue driving the electromagnetic motor for a period of time. Input energy can be supplied to the solenoids by an auxiliary electrical generator. However, the efficiency of the electromagnetic motor enables the output shaft to perform useful work. Useful work may be in the form of a mechanical attachment to the output shaft for the purpose of driving an auxiliary mechanical device. Alternatively, an electrical generator may be attached directly to the output shaft to provide electrical output energy to other electrical devices.

The device shown in the video is different from the listed patent. Though they both share the same approach to harnessing power from magnetic energy.

I'd buy one if it really does work.

I knew it would be possible! I talked about that several times. Just look to our Planet Earth moving around itself without stopping for Years and years. What is that? It is magnetic energy!
Could that be possible that these guys on Universities have been sleeping for all this time through? GOD already invented continuous energy! We just have to imitate it! Now let us hope no one sabotage or buy it to kill it as usual. -
I'm a little bit sceptic...
Sounds like a perpetual motion machine... And what do we know about this kind of machines? They don't work.-

word stopnoise, the universe is powered and protected by magnetism, why not us?

magnets will always repel each other; scientists know that if we can harness this effect, they just don't know how. why is it so questionable that some good folks from australia couldn't figure it out? innovation goes both ways, top-down, bottom-up

AWESOME! But why does it have a US patent if its an Australian invention?

I've seen this on TV before.
It's not really a perptual energy machine per se, it just take advantage of the natural properties of magnets to do some of the work. When one magnet pushes another magnet or pulls a piece of metal toward itself, well, "work" is being done for "free" for the most part, right? Why not take advantage of those magnetic fields and exploit what these magnets are essentially doing for free?
Makes sense to me. I hope they mass produce these things. -
Amazing!!
Put me on the waiting list for one.-

After searching google & yahoo for any information about this video air date, I have no info to share.
http://www.skynews.com.au Doesn't have have a search feature and they don't seem to archive videos online.
I had no luck at http://news.sky.com/ either. Though they have a search feature, various keyword searches brought up nothing.
If anyone else is curious and has any luck, please let me know. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Damn these intertubes!-

Again it all depends on efficiency, and the validation of the laws of physics, or at least the measurable ones. Georgia Tech University will be conducting the actual testing of the energy input/output.

I saw this four months ago on the science channel.
It's an old idea that has been bought out before.
Hopefully he doesn't sell the patent to G.E or someone like that because we will never see it if he does.
They should sell alot of these units to Iran so they don't need nuclear power. -
This kind of thing; where people sell their patents for amazing things to companies and then they bury them.
Remember Starlight from England? A man came on television years ago to show an invention that he had made because of the Pan Am disaster in Lockerbee Scotland. His daughter died on that flight, he was a chemist. He discovered that most of the people who died; died because of inhaling burning plastic fumes.
So he decided to make a plastic that could not burn.
The demonstrated it on Television back in the late 80's and it was truly amazing to watch.
Then it disappeared along with the inventor. I haven't been able to find anything on the internet about it except for a few articles that referred to the TV show.
His plastic protected a raw egg from cooking with an acetylenes torch held to it for over ten minutes. When they peeled away the plastic, they cracked open the egg and it was still raw. -
I just hope that energy companies don't buy this patent for an ungodly amount of money and kill the invention- if it works. If it does, we'd have to rethink how all kinds of infrastructure would work.
-
Hawkmang, could you repost the link to Starlight?

i'm with you... they mention that electrical power input is needed, but don't specify how much.
if energy is extracted, what is the source? magnetism? sorry, if the extracted energy came FROM the magnets, they'd lose their magnetism.
@stopnoise... " Just look to our Planet Earth moving around itself without stopping for Years and years. What is that? It is magnetic energy! "
absolutely NOT SO. the earth doesn't "move around itself, it moves around the sun while rotating on its axis. the rotation comes from rotational MOMENTUM collected back when the earth was forming. if you spin a globe in a virtual vacuum, it don't slow down, bro. the earth's magnetic field, if anything, interacts with electrically-charged particles from the sun in just one way.... in the direction of slowing the earth's rotation DOWN, not speeding it up.
please offer a citation, ANY citation that proves what i said to be wrong.
no peer review, no data, no numbers? power my home without "much" energy input? that's perpetual motion: more output than input.
nothing works that way; never did, never will. basic physics, but fun for talking heads to play on the excitement side of things.
if it COULD work, why not make small, mobile ones and put 'em in cars and trucks, too...? damned extension cord would wrap around trees and lamp posts as you went to work....
prove me wrong with DATA.... -
My Dad described this engine to me all of my life, He passed away 12/18/06. My oldest brother has picked up the torch and has several applications for this energy.
There is no doubt this engine works. John, if you see this count me as a U.S. distributor.-
