Brand Spankin' New: Toyota Matrix VCAM

Hey VCAM-ers,

Today is the day we all get in touch with our dark sides. Our latest VCAM assignment is for Toyota Matrix's YourOtherYou.com.

This is a slightly different flavor of VCAMs, so please don't hesitate to post any questions! Remember, we're looking for an ad for YourOtherYou.com and not the Toyota Matrix.

Q: Alright. I'm officially confused. Are we suppose to be making a promo for the site, a vcam about the promo, or...I'm totally confused.

A: You are making a promo for the site -- the idea is to make a promo to encourage people to use YourOtherYou.com. Film your friends reacting to the text messages and emails and incorporate the Matrix video clips.

    • I'd like to make a short animated VCAM. Is it possible to animate the mandatory Matrix "Maniac" clips?

      For example, I'd like to give it a go and transform the Japanese girl "maniac" into a more menacing animated character.

      I can give this VCAM a go, but only if I'm able to circumvent having to use the live clips.

      Hey angerboy,

      Yes this is okay, but you will have to follow the brief as much as possible. Toyota will have to definitely see it before it posts though. Will you be including any of the raw footage?

      Honestly, the raw footage is GREAT for someone who can come up with an excellent live-action promo. I, however, want to get started on a 2D animated promo.

      If you are in contact with a Toyota rep, tell them I want to do a Gorillaz-style short promo depicting one of their "maniacs" (the Shibuya gal), and some poor normie running around in fear as he's being hunted and stalked by the girl. I plan on using the copy "get in touch with..." and directing viewers to their website.

      I'd love to tackle this because of the action-oriented/thriller aspect of the project, and I love Current TV. It would be short and very sweet. Something unique to previous VCAMs.

      However, the project requires a rigid schedule for me. , and ass-tight pre-planning. As much as I'd love to tackle this, I am running out of free-time to begin this.
