The Vision for Space Exploration is the United States space policy announced on January 14, 2004 by U.S. President George W. Bush. It is seen as a response to the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, the state of human spaceflight at NASA, and a way to regain public enthusiasm for space exploration.

  • Part of me thinks this is a really cool development for us, but then it looks like we'd just be doing the same thing to the moon as we do here. Rather than fix our problems, we run from them and create them somewhere else. It would be different if we did this just because our population was working so well here on Earth that we thought we'd give the moon a try. I don't know, this just doesn't sit right with me.
