Some Hillary Clinton supports have vowed to support John McCain in November. The sentiment is understandable given the passion of the campaign and the heat of the moment. But it would be a mistake. And in their hearts most know that it would be a mistake. Some reasons.

  • Sorry, but after being called an ignorant racist and an uneducated redneck on a daily basis for months, I just really don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling about uniting. I guess you Obama groupies should have thought about that earlier.

  • I don't deny that some Obama supporters might have done that but it didn't come from me. Sorry you feel the way you do.
  • So instead of helping the party that Hilary fought for, they're turning their back on the Democratic Party and helping a rich, white male (surprise!) get into office. That just perpetuates the stereotype of Hillary's supporter's being racist, whether or not it's true. This election should have been about voting for the underdog and getting rid of the decades old white male president, but instead it's become about which is worse, sexism or racism? Both are terrible! Voting for Obama doesn't make you a sexist, and voting for Hillary doesn't make you racist. It's sad that this is what it's become.
  • This annoys me... So many people vote for the most trivial reasons... This is the fate of the world ladies and gentlemen- please understand what your vote is supporting...

Obama is going to win without Hillary's base.

  • obama did say that he will incorporate Clinton's most famous policy of universal health care and other such policies of which Mcain is adamantly against. As a Clinton supporter you would think that they would at least give Obama a shot only because of the fact that Clinton's policies and notions of governing would be incorporated in obama's administration. now last i checked people voted because you believed that your candidate would govern in ways that would better the country and them. so shooting down everything your candidate stood for to prove a point or because your angry doesn't make much sense at all. but hey screw reason right..

  • As I recall it was Hillary that said that "Working, hard working white Americans. With less education are for her?" I fail to see why that would make anyone want to vote for McCain unless Hillary and McCain were the only choice. Obama didn't say anything about racist rednecks, if you will admit the truth. I thought Hillary's remark was insensitive to her supporters and had I been one, I would have cut out about the time she said that. There are two Republicans coming in for every Democrat cutting out. They have looked McCain over carefully and don't want any part of what he has in mind. We need to give some real thought to what four more years of this will do to the country and do what is right for our future.
  • Hey John A, if the shoe fits...

Change is coming in the form of an Obamanon. He will lead - your choices are to follow or get out of the way.

  • forget the racism and sexism notions of the race after all what made us all think that they would magically go away when Hilary and Obama run for president. Marilynn_Murray put it best we seriously need to think of the future. look through Hilary's points of view for those who support her and pick a candidate that will work to push her views out. Assuming that you know whats she stood for and didn't vote for her solely because of her gender. Or pick a candidate that you think that will make this country better.

  • Any voter who votes for an opposing candidate of Hillary just because they're angry are obviously sexist--they were only supporting Hillary the WOMAN, not Hillary and her policies.

  • Hillary only supported herself the woman more so than herself the politician.

  • To vote for McCain because Hilary lost is just outright outrageous! I dont understand the logic there. Do you these people see whats going on in the world? Wake up people and JOhnA, I dont know what your deal is. I dont understand how anyone could vote for McCain. I hope the American people do the right thing when the time comes.

  • People are so stupid. It's fine if you supported Hillary - you're entitled to your own opinion. We can argue all the way until the election over who would have the better chance of beating McCain... but that's exactly the point - if you were a Hillary supporter you SHOULD have been a supporter of the Democratic party.

Anyone who would now rather vote for McCain than Obama is even CRAZIER than Hillary is. These people clearly have no idea what they're even voting for and just got sucked up in the competition and are ignorant enough to overlook the fact that Obama and Clinton have extremely similar policy stances. Whereas McCain's stances on key Democratic issues are complete polar opposites.

  • Today Hillary Clinton made it very clear where she stands on supporting Barack Obama. It was a great speech that I hope all of her supporters will listen to over and over again.
  • The democratic party is really kicking itself over this. Didn't we learn this lesson in the 1968 election? I didn't realize we needed to do it all over again and have Democrats not really involved in government for out failure to unite.

This isn't about racist this, sexist that. Why can't it be about policies. Hillary and Obama have very similar opinions about politics. Do we really need to be THIS spiteful?
