Yeah it shouldn't matter who you want to get married to. If gays/lesbians want to get married then how does that affect straight people. It doesn't.

Give marriage back to religion and give civil unions to everybody. True equality is what we must have for our union to survive. If marriage is a religious institution, then what is our government in the marriage business for?
Separation of church and state is where we need to be.
Let people who want Holy Matrimony go to their church for a blessing, but make everybody go down to the courthouse and have a little ceremony just like everybody else who is not religiously affiliated. -
I personally don't require the label "marriage" to justify or quantify my 15 year relationship with my male partner, however I do agree that if a couple desires this label then their sexual composition should not be an issue. The true meaning of a legitimate relationship is that share between two consenting adults, who wish to benefit from their union just as that of a man and woman. There are financial as well as medical reasons for the acceptance of every declared relationship between two consenting adults, be it male with male, or female with female, or female with male!
