"Forget what you thought the Milky Way looked like. The galaxy is far from the simple and elegant spiral-armed structure so often portrayed. New observations, presented today at the 212th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in St. Louis, Missouri, reveal, among other things, that the Milky Way is missing two of the four spiral arms it was thought to have. The findings should force a significant rethinking about how the Milky Way evolved and how its stars formed."

I like to learn about stuff like this.
It really forces you to step back a bit from human affairs and realize just how insignificant our puny lives are and how easy it is to get lost in the sea of BS that is humanity.
Just think, our sun is a tiny microscopic dot in that beautiful cluster and our planet the size of a subatomic particle in comparison to the image on our computer screen, and we're even smaller. And there are billions of galaxies like that with trillions of stars.
Makes ya think about man's purpose in this giant place. After all, it's not just for decoration ;) -
It's definitely still looking milky though.
