An anonymous graffiti artist has been attacking London advertisements, with a signature graffiti style.
He or she has been gorily removing heads from well known advertisements such as this year’s blockbuster movie “Sex and the City” the movie.
Kissing couples, beautiful models and aspiring celebs have all come under ‘the East London decapitator’s’ knife; their beautiful heads replaced by bony, blood drenched stumps. His artworks are defined by the media as culture jamming or sub-vertising, which Wikipedia describes as, ‘the practice of making spoofs or parodies of corporate and political advertisements in order to make a statement,” thus their appearance has been predominantly on fashion and film posters such as the recently tagged Uniqlo t-shirt campaign.

maybe its banksy...

Love it.
It brings a some stunning visuals to the hum-drum of everyday life and adresses advertizements in a whole new light. Though they're put up by companies, they ultimatly belong to the people who live with them every day. Artists like this really drive that point home for me.
I dont know how he/she did them but they're really well done and beautiful in their own grotesque way. A lovely twist on what is more than just your everyday graffiti. -
awsome it makes the posters actually cool to look at
-
Great art- but I think I'd rather see a beautiful girl when I get off the subway instead of a decapitated body.

I do enjoy graffiti - it takes contemporary art into public space, and as you pass it, it pulls you from your everyday business.-

It's kind of weird, but I like it!

If they are not careful they'll become what they are making fun of.
-
That's hella badass. Major props to him/them.

Sweet idea, would be nice to see a little variation in the violence. Seems like the same picture of a severed limb pasted on some ones head over and over again.

well, i don't believe he should be doing this without permission, but the concept is excellent and he should continue his tirade, just without imposing on others work. two wrongs don't make a risetght. but i love the statements.

You can check out the uploader' profile on flickr here:
He/she/them have ingeniously called themselves the 'Decapitator,' coincidence? Me thinks not. -
Kinda brutal, nobody needs to see that man.
But I have to admit, it's kind of funny and very effective. -
Hi, can anybody explain to me the statement this artist is making? Thank you :)

crazy awesome

I am hoping that just as banksy inspired people to do it themselves so to speak that this will inspire people to do outlandish statements against the bombardment of adverts we see today
-
i first saw this, and was like, what the hell? haha it's cool though, and this person is really artistic. i just hope he or she isn't distrubed or anything, or suggesting that they want to chop everyone's heads off for real. otherwise, it's interesting

Impressive and Dramatic. I like it. America says 7 out of 10.I give it a 8.5. And a 4 from the Russian judge. critical meanies.

It isn't as artful, and it isn't completely analogous, but in NYC someone has been pasting cartoon testicles onto those You Don't Mess With The Zohan movie posters. You know, the ones in which Adam Sandler's legs are impossibly splayed? Those.
-
Thats what happens when a talented artist gets pissed off. haha!
