"It's a very important period for Obama and if Clinton plays it right it solidifies her place as a positive force in the party with an incredible future," said Democratic consultant Joe Trippi. "But if Obama somehow loses, you don't want people saying 'It's Hillary Clinton's fault.' And if people see her as a hurdle for him, she risks people saying 'Wow, she hurt him.'"

  • Barack was smart enough to get this far against the odds, I trust that he will put Hillary where she will do the best good and the least amount of harm.

  • Well, the FIRST thing she can do is convince her supporters who say they'll vote for McCain instead of Obama to change their minds, and say so publicly, and get enthusiastically behind the Obama campaign. THAT is how she can help the Democrats win in November. She chose to carry on her campaign this long, after she knew the math wasn't going to work out without some miracle; she chose to make sure every state got to have their vote -- so now she needs to pony up and help take down all the walls of anger and resentment her choices have fomented.

  • this will be a measure of ego versus party.... will she ask her supporters to get behind the part and push, or will she be an egomanaical disaster for her own party and no support O.

    my money is on her to do more stupid things that will work against her own party.

    still voting for O, though....
