Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Friday shed some light on the surprise meeting between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that took place at the California Democrat's Washington home Thursday night.
“I received them. Put them in the living room in two comfortable chairs facing one another and left,” Feinstein told CNN Friday morning.
“They talked. I went upstairs and did my work," Feinstein continued. "They called me when it was over. I came down and said ‘good night everybody, I hope you had a good meeting.’ They were laughing and that was it.”
Among the other details Feinstein divulged:
- The meeting took place at 9 p.m. and lasted about an hour.
- Clinton called Feinstein Thursday afternoon to see if they could use her house.
- Feinstein served them water but nothing else.
- No one else was in the room with them. One person from each of the campaigns went to a separate room, a study, in the house. Security waited outside.
Asked why Clinton and Obama kept the meeting so quiet, Feinstein said the two formal rivals wanted "wanted an opportunity to meet together alone."
This is a deeply personal time too," Feinstein added. "You’re sorting out your feelings. Hillary’s going to be giving a big speech tomorrow. Barack is trying to put things together for a major presidential campaign. "
"There are a lot of decompression, nerve endings, that need to come together," she continued. "I think the opportunity to sit down, just the two of them, was positive."

I hope she's ready to play ball now. She needs to get with the new program quickly and start getting her fanatic supporters to get on board WITHOUT her being on the ticket.
-
Good to know the two candidates can have a civil conversation and be amicable toward each other, but here's something to ponder: Will their supporters follow their lead? Will Hillary's supporters come around if she wholeheartedly gets behind Barack and makes them realize that staying home or voting for John McCain would be a complete slap in the face for everything she stands for? Will Barack's supporters warm to Hillary and be more open to her as VP or in any role in an Obama administration?

Hillary needed to weep bittlerly privately about her $55 million campaign debt. I can humbly appreciate that.

I can only imagine her disappointment, not to mention her supporters. Things got so ugly that it's really hard to even see her as V.P. now, but there's alot of time for all wounds to heal. I have a strong suspicion however, that the Republicans will be using Hillary's own words against Obama. It's already begun.

l couldn't agree more. There has been a lot of pie throwing during the primaries. I'm sure there was some anger to get past...
I would have loved to hear the actual words that passed between them. %X#@! ; x-

i genuinely feel bad for Hillary, it's not easy to admit defeat, but in the long rung, she'll be proud and fighting the Republican Monsters.
things just didn't work out for her, life goes on. she did just about all she could, she will help him win. She is a powerful Democrat!-

Rumor is that they both ended up being invited to the imfamous Bilderburg Group meeting in VA...wonder if there's any truth to that?
"Did Obama and Clinton meet at the secret Bilderburg meeting?"

All over the Googleverse, this rumor. Shoot, Kissenger, Condoleeza, the top dog at the NSA, and the head of the Fed were there, amongst others, so why not the next head(s?) of the sole Superpower.-

I hope the talks were really positive. Instead of malicious. It only takes a minute to form a crazy one off hair brain scheme!
