Drink up girls! You're addicted!

You probably started drinking before your mom, or at the very least your grandmother. On average, women born before 1944 started drinking at age 20, while those born after that started drinking at age 17.

Unfortunately, it’s not all champagne dreams and beergoggles. A new Washington University study is showing women born after 1944 have a greater risk for alcohol dependence than those born before that time.

Somewhere, a high school student is groaning (and asking a sketchy neighbor to buy her a case of Natural Light).

  • I have devoted numerous years of informal research to this, and can confirm its veracity ;)

  • I saved this image a while back and I'm pretty sure that the beautiful lady closest to the lens has had a walk-on part in at least three dreams of mine. Goodness. [ call me ]

It's simply the best way to deal with your problems. Drink until you don't remember them, or who and what you did that night.

  • This is front page news? Above all the Zimbabwe, political and war news? Wow...
  • how about age 15?

  • This isn’t all that bad. In fact I think this trend will actually help to counter that horrible pro-ana thing that’s getting big. I’d seriously be more receptive to a woman with an overindulgence for beer than another who spends her time trading starvation techniques and “thinsperations.” Seriously ladies put down the water bottle and pick up a beer. Drink up and enjoy those carbs and calories.

  • Drink like a man, because alcoholic men are cool.

  • Its a big problem because young girls are neglecting their education and responsibilities and spending money they don't have just to be accepted as being "cool" to their piers and starting an addiction that will carry on into their 20's or longer and bring consenquenses on their children, marrige and themselves.

  • What's my favorite thing about living in Bayern, Deutschland? You see it right there.

The drinking starts legally at 16, girls can handle their maß's (1L), and life is celebrated as a community.

    München!!

  • I can't even comment because that girl in the front of the shot is just so damn hot. I'm so damn distracted.

  • Bottoms up girls!

Those beer calories will make those bottoms even more voluptuous. But be careful, voluptuous becomes voluminous pretty quick.

So just drink on the treadmill like I do!

the main difference between humans and animals is the mind.. one of the many dangers of alcohol is the decrease in mental capacity and execution.. it goes without saying that when people drink heavily, they tend to lose their mind and behave like animals..

anyone who encourages others to drink.. especially young females who are already prone to other risks.. should really think about what they are saying..

hate to sound so serious in the middle of all the "damn that girl is hot" commentary.. but accidents, rape, abortions, addictions, etc generally tend to be on the serious side..

  • I completely do not understand the appeal of beer. I've tried it twice and never have to, ever again. I get enjoying an alcoholic drink that actually tastes good...but beer?
    interrobang
  • beer is disgusting

tequila is not that bad... lol

i agree with interrobang up there

  • Something like this can be talked about so easily and this info is so acceptable to a lot of people. Once you mention someone smoking weed, then they get looked down upon like they're not on the same level as everyone else. Alcohol is proven to kill brain cells, so keep on drinking!

  • Beer is sooo good. Obviously you haven't had good beer.

BTW, I've had bad wine, liquor, beer, soda, and even water. Try some good stuff and learn to appreciate the opportunities you have in this life.

  • And wow... if all girls who drank beer looked as good as these 3 germans, oh! you'd like beer too! ;)

  • Drunk girls are easy, why ruin the fun?

  • Just because a bunch of doctors conduct a survey doesn’t automatically mean they’ve uncovered the reason why some become alcohol dependant. Quote all the figures and percentages you want but I sorry cracking a beer upon at sixteen doesn’t turn you into a whore or a future alcoholic. Education has a larger impact on determining whether or not you become dependant.

Smaller, less affluent (or developing) nations have the largest percentage of alcoholics because they simply don’t have the data or preventative measures other countries have in place. On the other hand older, wealthier countries who have a history of drinking alcoholic beverages not only have a smaller percentage of alcoholics the dependence rates are actually falling.

If this study meant anything than countries like Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Italy would have a huge percentage of alcoholics since they all have a legal drinking of sixteen. Yet this is not the case.

My pops started drinking at eighteen. He also use to brew his own beer. When I turned eighteen he handed me a beer and said welcome to manhood. I can tell you I drink way less than some of my friends, but I also have a dad who ten times cooler than they had. Maybe that has something to do with why some are more prone to become alcoholics?

  • Some 4 years ago i attended a drug treatment class. It has been documented that addiction to alcohol and drugs are in ones gyenes. It has been isolated to cells. This awarness can help prevent future alcholic's and drug addicts. So yes it is a disease and no it can not be cured. Only abstenance can help. I for one being an xdrug user must agree upon the point that education and intellect can prevent people from become addicted also. Im presently 6 years clean, just recieved my A.S. in graphic art and designs/digital media. An accomplishment that would not have been meet i had continued on my course of just open a beer and relax. (what ever) "Dont do drugs stay in school" best advice ever. On the lighter side of things. yea go ahead start drinking at age 16 or less , help me keep my job ty.
