Obama has run a remarkable campaign, and his campaign’s has made innovative use of social media, embracing podcasting, Twitter, Flickr, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube & more.

Are you connected to Obama through social media? Has made you more favoritable toward his candidacy? Do you feel like you have a more personal connection to Obama as a result of his new media efforts?

  • That's an interesting observation. I don't have Obama as a friend on any social networking site however an amazing artist by the name Janelle Monae got a special comment from him on Myspace about how great her music was. I would screengrab it if I knew how.

Even if it was done by someone on his staff (which I doubt) I still thought, How very cool to sort of have this connection to a presidential hopeful. Of course with all relationships, social sites donot substitute for actual human connection, but you do feel like you get the jist of who someone is through something like that.

  • I have been a Obama friend since before the primary. He actually tags you and sends memos and stuff. I dont know if it is really him but it makes you feel more in touch with the process. The campaign was genius to utilize the social network.

  • I think it has helped him reach voters who don't like or don't watch the news. He keeps you very informed online.
