Looks like all that fuss was for nothing. Apparently there was some apathy, but several people did call the police, who released the audio tapes of the calls.

    while the commercial media [and that police guy] go for the headlines and attention and adrenaline rush, one of my favorite phrases has become..

    give it some time for the truth to come out.

    i first started saying this over a year or so ago when the "Duke Rape Case" hit the airwaves and print media.

    my reaction was: we won't know the truth for at least 6-12 months.

    and we didn't. after that, Nifong was out of a job and in striped suits and the Duke morons who hired the poor girl were getting ready to sue the city of Durham for "mental anguish".... probably hoping to net $10-20Million apiece.....

    which, if you think of it, is maybe one lifetime's salary for an average Duke Grad....

    so they're set up for life as compensation for a few months of embarrassment....

    makes me sick.
