To create awareness of sea pollution created by plastic bottles, a group of adventurers are sailing from LA to Hawaii on a raft made from plastic, and they are blogging about their journey ...

How does this raise awareness in the demographics that most need to be made aware?
Just asking.
Also, #%ck plastic. -
Because Humdrum, it's sorta silly.

Even though that protest won't do much in my opinion, I have to give them props for risking their lives on that long voyage just for some hope to bring change in the world.

Huh. Looks like something from Kevin Costner's "Waterworld". Pretty cool machine.

If they get people to talk about them then they'll be talking about why they are doing it, and to them that's important thing to achieve.
Cool for them. -
Their boat of plastic bottles is following the same route of all the waste, including plastic bottles. that finds it's way into the ocean from the west coast of America (and Pac Rim) follows to bask on a tropical beach, From Here to Eternity.
We are all responsible, we must all be aware ! -
blogging is a lame trend. I think a video journal would have been much more interesting and useful

How cool -- what a great idea to get awareness. And if something goes wrong on the way, there are plenty of spare parts floating around.
-
Nice gimmick, but why not also offer solutions or alternatives to the people whose awareness needs to be raised. Most will just look at this and think "F***king hippies".

i like how they're using the fuselage of a cessna (? ) as a cabin . it'd be cool to float around on an even larger craft with a mothballed b-52 . actually , i could see a market in eco-minded cruises if this catches on .
