This is a typical comment. Now imagine this combined with poor nutrition combined with an antidepressant I will post below this if I get the time.



I know it sounds dumb but there are several reasons why the USA has such astronomically high rates of violence not seen in other countries...it is not one reason.

1. Nutritional deficiencies-cut violence by 1/3 in Prisoners study:

2. Prescription Drugs and interactions-it is common in the USA for people to be on several kinds of OTC and Prescription Drugs at the same time.

3. These combined with other factors like poor upbringing ..but my biggest concerns are the first two and the results of interaction are immediate.

For example here is the rating page for our beloved Claritin..it's bad stuff for many people and combined with poor nutrition and a cocktail of other drugs like antidepressants here is a source of terror like this rape and torture at Columbia could likely be..where is the coverage on what these violent criminals ate and took for drugs on a daily basis? Are they on one drug or a cocktail of drugs? Have they had a decent meal or are they subsising on coffee and Dunkin Donuts?

This man had a lengthy criminal record dating back to his childhood yet, for some reason, he was deemed fit by a court of law to live amongst society. I hate to say it, but rehabilitation doesn't work for some people. This man has proven that he does not deserve to live.

Drug interactions and poor nutrition have nothing to do with it. That's just an excuse, and a flimsy one at best. the glorification of these kinds of occurances in the media increases frequency. My girlfriend and I just had a conv about this last night when silence of the lambs was on, I can't help but feel that, in a (seemingly) distant way, people who are interested and intrigued by the people who do this are partly responsible for it happening at all. absolutely revolting. There is something to be said for women carrying self-defense measures, though for true sickos like this, it's hard to fathom how to defend oneself. The prosecution should seek the absolute harshest sentence possible.

after reading the entire story - and visualizing this horrid scene and events - Robert A. Williams is absolutely a waste to human life.

The next thread in line after this one has to do with open carry and the protection firearms afford pwople. Many on that thread decry the use of firearms and say they feel safer where there are no guns. Note that this occurred in New York, a place where only the elite are allowed the right to defend themselves. The European style anti gun laws in NYC didn't seem to deter our miscreant now did they. In all probability they did prevent our victim from seeing that she would not be a victim.
The criminal should be summarily executed. End of story. .30 cal ammo is about $.50 to $2.00 or so a round depending on petigree. I would be more than willing to toss $5 in the pot to defray ammo expense if that was a problem.

It seems contrary to an illuminated nature to use a weapon to defend ones self, however, as this story demonstrates, if that woman had a gun visible to an attacker, he might of not attacked her.

If this monster is allowed to live, there is no reason why he shouldn't be subjected to the torture he inflicted on his victim. He obviously has no respect for the life of another person, he's shown that he doesn't deserve his own. Put him under the prison.

I am appalled and deeply saddened for this woman. I can't even imagine how such trauma would effect someone. I pray that she will be able to come to terms with this and have all of the support she needs.

For this Mr. Williams: I hope that karma pays him back like no other.

This after spending eight years in prison, something is wrong here.
