"A leading energy body is calling for a $45 trillion (£23 trillion) green revolution to tackle global warming.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said nations must spend 1% of annual economic output on new technology to halve carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

It warned that without action, CO2 emissions would rise by 130% and oil demand would jump by 70% by the middle of the century.

But the IEA added that meeting the new target would be a formidable challenge."

  • Good post..we will look into that type of Good Energy source after our upcoming move. Thanks!

The sad part of it is that it was all so pitifully easy to do if we followed our noses all along but we were seriously misguided. We knew it all along...electric vehicles..wind..solar. We were called radicals. Now we have to backtrack a few decades to reverse the damage done by these greedy Oil Executives.
Hopefully we can undo their damage, un-brainwash their sheep.. and continue on with a more rational road to a greener world that we humans can live in harmony with the natural world. There is no reason why we can't if the damage has not been too severe.

  • I think it's a clear and strong message to be sending out, no doubt this took them a while to piece together.

From where I'm standing I don't see how oil demand can rise by 70% when it's cost has risen by around 25% since the beginning of the year. If the price keeps going up, the demand will go eventually have to go down, which will force people to think outside of the box on how to get energy.
