  • Art is throwing something up that makes people think or stand in awe... Trash (I won't go so far as to say a crime), is someone just "tagging" their name anywhere for the sake of seeing their name on something or repping some misconception that they "own" or run a particular territory.

  • graffiti is pure, straight from the belly of the beast.most hide their feelings because of the image they hold.in graffiti people get to develop a name for their ego which is very empowering.a taste of bliss.

  • Most people don't realize that for a graffiti artist to have any kind of actual representation in the community they need to tag, less they want their pieces to only stay up for a few hours. A tag is like a stepping stone into something bigger that you would call art, rather than vandalism.

  • Really! Where do you live? Can I start my road to recognition by tagging your house first?

  • these damn corporations keeping us up to our ears in advertisements and real estate companies trashing the green areas in our neighborhoods is the real vandalism. Get your priorities straight.

  • stopnoise, check out those paints. Are they natural/green/sustainable? Perhaps you could encourage the use of green materials since they are repainting so often. Start in San Fran and then go nation-wide to all cities. You could be a middle man/salesman to the cities and perhaps make a little money. Plus help save the planet. Food for thought...

  • San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Matt Gonzalez, who has thumbed his nose at the establishment before, let a graffiti artist spray paint his City Hall office walls with the bright orange message: "SMASH THE STATE."

There is irony. There is art appreciation. There are raised eyebrows.

  • Great subject. Edits are a little ruff but I think as you learn to tell stories in this medium it will improve.

    Informative.

  • wat gives buisnesses the right to shove advertisments down my throat??

    i put up a few handstlye/s"tags"

    and its a big deal?

just cause i dont have money to but up a billboard means i cant be heard?

when u buff off graffiti...its like youre wiping out a culter.

would u like it if i went, got history of someone and just made it disapear?

graffiti has way more to it than just "marking your territory."

  • Graffiti is destruction of personal property. YOu could save money by actually drawing on paper. Lose less brains sells. Huffing paint is dumb.

  • keep painting over it! there's nothing like the feeling of the first tag on a blank canvas; almost better than sex!
