"Parts of the Midwest are bracing for another round of wet weather today while still recovering from a weekend of severe storms that forced evacuations, spawned tornadoes and literally left residents knee-deep in water. Meanwhile, the East Coast baked in a heat wave."

  • And have they turned those smoke stack scrubbers back on, that W turned off, as one of his 1st official acts?

    Probably not!

So while we are well aware of the problem of spewing raw coal smoke into the atmosphere, are we DOING anything about cleaning up the coal smoke that the plants are spewing into the air?

    Probably not!

  • My husband told me he got in the car to come home and the temperature read 108, and schools here have a half day tomorrow. Not good for those with respiratory problems and the elderly so if you know someone in either category make sure they are kept inside in cool temperatures. So sad about is happening in Wisconisn and the Midwest. No global warming? This is natural? I think not.

  • My dad sent me this image. This is Schaefer Lake in Hope Indiana. He lives across the street from the lake and our extended family own that white house you see. The white house is now condemned because there is 6 inches of mud in it. If you look closely you can see a boat in the middle of the picture. It's stuck in a boat lift that also got washed out. The water completely wiped out the road below. The City of Hope is without water and are currently being supplied water by the national guard.

  • notice how they slip in the "one scientist says....", regarding the human impact on the increase in temp over the years, right at the end of the article - it's as though its an afterthought - global warming is really making me sad!

  • Hmm. Hot weather and flooding in the summer? NO way! It MUST be a global warming conspiracy!
    Blazesboy
  • This is out of control! There are fires raging in the west, flooding in Wisconsin and Indiana, hurricanes, tornadoes and cyclones occuring almost everyday. I don't believe this is natural. It's as if Mother Nature was given a steroid shot and is on a rampage.

  • This is amazing... a lake drained itself into a river and the lake homes washed away.

  • I think Mother Earth is doing what she's always done. Heard about the flood that happened back when Noah's was still walkin' around. Well guess who was the real culprit.
What really sucks are the lost lives and damage.

  • It's specious to think we're not harming Earth.
"I'm gonna die anyway, so smoking isn't bad for me."
Yes, Earth has always changed,... weather and climate have always changed,... but we are accelerating AND dwarfing Earth's natural activities.

Can you breathe exhaust from one car?
Then how can Mother Earth breathe exhaust from millions of cars?

    THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE
