  • Made me want to go swimming, then made me fear water...

  • Wow, that's awful.

Disturbing but effective. Makes me ashamed and angry that anyone in America would dare defend this practice, and worse that we use and approve of it.

  • I have an idea!
lets use the elixir of life to suffocate them, then they will tell us what we want to here.
    Yah! That's a graet idea.

Whomever had that conversation should be flogged.

To bad you'll never see that add on the Media Matrix.

  • Waterboarding is such a bad thing...it only saved hundreads of lifes and gives information on terrorist activities.
If this practice can prevent a terrorist attack than what is everyone freaking out about?

  • Jesus Christ, where do people like you come from? Please leave America and never come back.

    Let's see

First off, it doesn't save any lives you moron. We have never needed torture to get information. In WW2, when we were fighting the Japanese and the Germans (and if you say we are in greater danger now, please kill yourself) we NEVER used torture and we were ENORMOUSLY successful in getting information from them. There is no evidence that any of the people that we caught are even terrorists, they've never been charged with any crime. But you don't care, because you're an idiot and you have no idea how court systems or how basic human decency works.

Second, it KILLS lives. Because when these innocent people get released (and yes, 99% of them are innocent) they will HATE us for having tortured them and will return home to a life not worth living. There IS evidence for this, a lot of the people released from secret prisons go back and attack American soldiers in revenge.

Third, Because YOU would not want it done to your family, your children, your loved ones or YOURSELF you COWARD. You don't do ANYTHING to ANYONE during wartime that you would not be willing to do to your own citizens and yourself. And I KNOW you would not submit yourself to torture. Don't you dare come back with "oh, but they don't care about our people." That's NOT how this works. The Japanese, the Vietnamese, the Koreans and the Germans ALL BRUTALLY tortured our prisoners of war and we NEVER did it back to them. That's what makes a nation civilized and righteous.

But you never considered that, because you're not an American. You're everything our founding fathers never wanted to see.

  • Rights, thats whats wrong. No one should be subjugated to cruel and unusual punishments, for one the innocent do not deserve it and two if we do it to terrorists we start the path for it to become common practice in the US to anyone accused of a crime.

Just remember one controversial fact: To the Taliban WE are the terrorists destroying them, their way of life and invading their home turf, if we water board take children as prisoners and commit other torturous acts, then people will ignore what they (The Taliban) do and join their side.

  • I say we use waterboarding on all the supporters of it, and then ask them if they would still vote for it!

  • When dealing with people that will strap a bomb on themselves and blow up a storefront, how is one to deal with them? What does it matter if you almost kill them since that is how they want to go out any way?

I think people fail to realize not everyone has the same value on life as they do and they shouldn't think that everyone is like them and think it's so highly great and needs protecting.

  • I don't support any form of torture what so ever, even something as "humane" as waterboarding.

I saw this ad a couple months ago and immediately signed the petition at Amnesty's site.

  • So many sick people in the world. That's definitely a very effective ad, if only it was played on all the major television stations... but we all know Murdoch won't allow that.
