  • Yeah for Japan, leading by example.

If only the United States would follow their lead.

  • Maybe japan will start the trend, since all america knows is how to follow trends and set bad ones.

  • It is sad that the US has passed up the opportunity to step up and lead in something so important. While the US waits for China and India to do something, and they wait for the US to do something, Japan and Europe will be leading the way in policy, innovation and action.

  • This is a good thing that Japan is doing but... by 2050? Isn't that a little late considering what position the climate is in now?

  • That is good news, but I am waiting for that 99.9 % goal!

  • Japan and her people have been an inspiration to me for their creative invention in ways to solve environmental issues. They truly are the world leaders in this purpose.

  • if you think about its realy not that hard to do this, you can reduce your carbon foot print by 1.5 tons of co2 a year by not eating meat. Try riding the bus its not that bad.

It's a step in the right direction. You wouldn't push over a toddler who's just learning to walk would you...let them get their walk sorted, you never know, they might even break out into a jog...

  • The entire country is going to hold their breathes for 20 seconds.

  • I must say I am not surprised that they are doing this. But, anyway, yay for them. :)

  • Before a country was "impressive" by how much money and power they have. But common that's like so last decade. It's who's greener now!
