  • Scott is going to help clarify that it was GW Bush himself who signed off on the declassifications for the sole purpose of outing a CIA agent. There is a big disconnect here - it seems that Bush and team can do just about anything and there are never any legal consequences. Maybe that pattern is about to come to an end.

  • Right, never any legal consequences because the corrupt Attorney General's we had refuse to uphold the requirements of the job descriptions - they are legally bound to uphold by the way.

  • they lied about it all, they new what they were saying went against the intelligence, leading to the death and destruction of millions of peoples lives. These people need to be brought to justice, and held accountable for their actions. Being president does not come with a free pass over law.

  • McClellan was recently asked if he would speak to anything beyond what he was being called in for. He said that it would depend on what the HJC brought up.
I sure hope he meant that.

  • Scott, Don't go anywhere in a small plane, don't go into any parks, and stay away from tool sheds. You might want to stay in crowds and watch your back until you get a chance to testify. They are running scared and you are apt to end up dead.

  • Does anyone actually think the Bush Administration ever did anything that was overt enough to get them into trouble? Anyone think they were that stupid? These guys are lawyers! Dick Cheney was Gerald Ford's Chief of Staff. He learned the mistakes by watching Watergate first hand.

The dealings of the Bush Administration were all "wink wink nod nod". Have you seen a picture of Cheney? How many pounds would you lose sweeting during a conversation with him?
    Danny
  • Danny, Yes people do. Go here and read this and maybe you will understand what has happend that is overt enough to get them in a world of trouble.

  • This may be the moment, an exclamation point, to the failures of the Bush administration at a point when the damages are already past tense. I am happy to see McClellan testify, but I fail to see why we needed someone so close to the adminstration to verify the truth. This is one example why Americans mistrust government so much.

  • How nice that Scott McClellan is telling a truth we already knew and has been widely presented in the media. How unfortunate that it took the profit opportunity of a book to make him come forward.

McClellan is just another in a long line of people who see the truth as a tool with which to make money - a mercenary. As press secretary, he peddled information because it was his job. And now he's just chosen a new job where he can peddle information again.

I'm glad he's going public, but not so glad he stands to profit handsomely for it.
