60 people spontaneously break into Bjork's "Oh So Quiet" in San Francisco

On Saturday, June 7, 2008, about 30 people calling themselves "Public Displays of Musical Affection" began dancing to Bjork's version of the song, "It's Oh So Quiet," in Union Square in San Francisco. The participants, dressed as businessmen, food service employees, messengers, tourists and other people that one would expect to see wandering around Union Square. There was no indication that a performance was about to begin. One person started dancing, and one by one, the other dancers joined her as if they were suddenly inspired to join in.

    I liked their outfits, esp. the guy with the messenger bag. They pulled together off the streets, see, and spontaneous art just happened! It's nice to see people dedicating themselves (this obviously took a lot of planning and practice) to something other than the daily grind...

    Sometimes I feel like breaking into song in dance in the middle of the street, but apparently, I need 49 other people or I'll run the risk of looking like a looney.
    That would just make my day to see something like that on my way to work.

    This is great. I, too, have always wanted to burst into song but fear the flogging the general public would give if forced to listen to something happy for a change. Good times, though. The people in the video did a wonderful job and brought smiles and looks of "wtf" to the faces of everyone there. Good job!
