WASHINGTON - Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a former Democratic presidential contender, said Monday he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi consistently has said impeachment was "off the table."
Kucinich, D-Ohio, read his proposed impeachment language in a floor speech. He contended Bush deceived the nation and violated his oath of office in leading the country into the Iraq war.
Kucinich introduced a resolution last year to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. That resolution was killed, but only after Republicans initially voted in favor of taking up the measure to force a debate.
Kucinich won 50 percent of the vote in a five-way House Democratic primary in March, beating back critics who said he ignored business at home to travel the country in his quest to be president.

YES, it matters. It might stop him from starting WW III. It will stop the pardons. It will shed light on what they have done. It will land them in prison. It will restore some of our credibility in the world. Better late than never
-
We should have done this right after the second election! Is there a way to stop the wrong majority in this Country?
-
I hope he gets impeached. He will be out in six months but the American people need to send a message that we will not let ourselves be decieved and manipulated, that we are still a free nation and a free people.

You must all consider that just maybe Bush and Cheney and their cronies were behind the World Trade Center bombings.....it is the oldest trick in the world......I know of a three year old girl that once bit herself on the arm.......blamed it on her older sister.......her downfall was her missing front teeth......her sister had all of hers.......if a three year old can do it......then a bunch of older idiots could too....when it becomes known will you just want to impeach?.....or will the old saying......get a rope come into play......then these guys may be elevated to their rightful place....even above Adolf...........and Hell must keep adding on.........Golden Ruler.........Richard....................

Should the American people pay for Bush and Cheney to have security, insurance, and a taxpayer supported life for the rest of theirs........enough is more than enough..........when someone digs a hole this deep.......they deserve to call it home.......Golden Ruler.....sometimes.......Richard....................

How long would it take to impeach? it's not like it takes a few days, nothing in government does. I think Bush would be out of office by then

Only Brian Williams out of all the News Networks reported the Senate Report that proves the reasons that Bush should be impeached.
It doesn't matter how long he still has left in office, if he gets away with it scott free, what's to stop other presidents from doing the same things with impunity? -
Voters can stop it at the polls

Here is what Nader had to say about Impeaching Bush/Cheney and what they threaten to do if the Dems go through with impeachment.
What do you think about what he says? -
Despite what many might say... if Bush were to be impeached, you would plunge America into a left vs. right battle like it has never seen.
America is about to step away from that (I hope) The damage has been done. Time to clean up the mess and move on.
The reality is that there was not the political will, nor the social uprising necessary to move forward on anything against this administration in the last 8 years.
He used the court to get into office to make certain VOTES WERE NOT COUNTED, and America stood by and did nothing... the Dems said here you have it and AL Gore is as guilty as Bush. Make no mistake this isn't about left and right this past decade (almost) has been about those in positions of authority ignoring the very law they promise to uphold.
Please do not stop talking about impeaching now. WAY too little way too late. Move forward and clean up the mess that, sadly many stood by and let me made right in front of them.-

That's precisely why impeachment has to go foward because it isn't about left or right since both sides have let it go unchallenged for 8 years.
It is exactly as you said "those in positions of authority ignoring the very law they promise to uphold." and unless it is charged as a crime then anyone in authoriy can continue the process without any fear of accountability for their actions.
Without making them accountable for the laws they broke then the laws become meaningless since they can be ignored without any repercussions at all.
You can't go foward with that hanging over the policies of government just waiting to be abused by the next bunch -
Tell me. What can happen after his office is over? Can he still be held accountable in our courts for his offenses?
-
3,500 lobbyists in DC have kept them busy with money schemes out the yin yang, so who on the hill has had time for any other considerations...I say make an example of the crimminals to show that crime will be punished with large doses of punishment...the maximum...impeach...

Kucinich is simply the best.
George W. Bush’s sentence-by-sentence speaking skills are deteriorating. Apparently, this may be due to a mental illness called “presenile dementia.” Bush may or may not be secretly still drinking heavily. Bush suffers from narcissism and megalomania. Moreover, Bush has been arrested three times. Bush was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bush was arrested for stealing. Bush was also arrested for a serious crime—driving under the influence of alcohol. There are reasons to believe that Bush suffers from a learning disability. Bush’s learning disability would explain a lot of things. All in all, Bush is a severely mentally ill individual. Bush is not fit to be the president of the United States.
