Albinos hunted for their body parts

That is absolutely crazy. I really don't understand why people do this sort of thing. Even if you consider albinos to be lucky, wouldn't it make more sense to befriend them?

Magical powers? Do you know what's magical? The human spirit and those that have more brain power than those that hack people for magical wonders.

When I thought I had seen the stupidest thing, I, again, am shown that the world has more stupid to offer.

I remember reading an article that they believed in order to get rid of aids, they had to have sex with a virgin.

disgusting. think of someone coming into your home and cutting you into pieces while your family watches and you're alive...all because of the color of your skin and the word of a witch doctor...

Yes, yes, yes. From where we sit we can look down and talk about how disgusting these people are, but you have to take into account their education and the belief system that guides their lives. Yes, disturbing, sickening and sad, how unlucky for these Albinos to be themselves, but when it's come down to hunting people for the luck you believe they will get you, one has to think of what the hell kind of motivation, if only for the sake of luck, could be driving this kind of desperate, unthinkable behavior.

That is sick; to know that there are humans out there that actually do that is just horrible to think about.

Evil is mind-bending, but it's out there. Vampires like this (who think they can consume someone's "magic" by literally consuming them) pop up everywhere, not just in such a nightmarishly recognizable form. They can wear suits, blend in, and smile as they shake your hand. It's narcissism gone to its unbalanced extreme and would be laughable if it didn't cause real harm. Exposing it helps defeat it, however sickening it is to see it.

Out of all the people...albinos. I would have never thought. This is why I trust Current more than other medias, they dont even look at whats going on and focus on celebs or oil.

If people choose to hate others based on the color of their skin its racism. No matter who is getting hurt.

This is absolutely amazing... Human Development and Cultural Biases are not a surprise... just the Brutal nature of these body snatchers is a fright!

So sad. They are ordinary people on the inside like you and me. The fact that some people still can't see through skin color in this day and age boggles my mind.

I think that this is not a cultural thing, evil is in anyone that would kill another person for any reason other than to protect themselves or their families (or other people in danger etc). I just don't understand the human race, there is so much bad in the world, so many people doing horrible things, things I don't even know where they came up with the idea of. Maybe I am niave about hurting others in general cause I don't get why so many things happen, it seems like the government is wanting it to stop but this is one of those situations where they need to start catching and killing those responsible publically. Deterrence is key to stopping violent crimes, and once someone has committed such an act as killing someone else like that, they are just like a rabid dog, you put them down! It can't be blamed on their culture or lack of understanding and no anthropological cultural relevance argument applies here, people know murder is wrong, period. It makes me sad to think that people are just being murdered to make 'luck potions' I mean honestly how lucky can they be if they are dead, and wouldn't it change the karma if you killed them? They should be prosecuting the witch doctors for starting this crap!!!

You have to understand that these people in these countries aren't as advanced as we are... well, technologically. They haven't experienced all these things, and have been living as they always have. Think back to the Salem witch trials, or any other even in history where in civilized society, people were killed for next-to no reason.

for those of you who don't know what a pygmy is (I think that's how you spell it..) they're a tribe of dwarves, or midgets, if you like. They actually addressed the U.N. as "The Pygmy Nation"...

So because two tribes turned to cannabalism of the pygmy nation it is okay for them to hunt and kill Albinos? I cannot believe that anyone could say that the fact of pygmys being hunted makes this any less bad. The truth is it is a choice and they knew just as the people in this situation knew that murder was wrong!!! If not then whyy not eat their own tribe members? There is no excuse for this or that situation! The fact that evil abounds doesn't mean right and wrong are somehow lost. Philosophers, the majority at least, have agreed that in the state of nature there were morals, with a few very notable exceptions. I think that overall it is within society that things become worse and people begin to ignore the natural instinct to help someone else in trouble. It is obvious that for people to become killers in order to gain anything means that their personal moral character has eroded and not that their culture has told them it is okay to commit these heinous acts against living beings! There is no justification and no oh well this was worse, the killing of native people on the American continent was massive and killed millions more than the German Nazis killed of jewish people but the fact that the natives were murdered does not make the holocaust any less evil. It is something that people need to stop and consider before trying to make it sound less wicked and immoral, comparison is not a mitigating factor. If you take that approach then rape isn't as bad as pedaphilia, and mutilation isn't as bad as murder. They are all acts of immorality and depravity that end up with the same reality the person committing the crimes have a known reasoning and conscience that says this is WRONG and they DO IT ANYWAY!!! They are evil who commit this violence regarless of their nationality!
