A DIY man Kansas was shot in the head with a nail gun – but only realised a two inch tack was embedded in his skull after a friend pointed it out. using the gun on garden decking when the accident occured.
However, neither man realised what had happened, and thought they had lost the nail.
It was only when Mr Kern saw it sticking out of Mr Chandler's baseball cap that the truth became clear: Mr Kern missed wood, and struck bone instead.
