Over two years, the new iPhone will still cost more than the old one, but it can do a lot more.
-
Apple is once again raising the bar and setting new standards. Apple has already revolutionized the computer industry and the music industry. Now they are changing the mobile phone industry. Way to go Apple!

I couldn't agree more merasyad.

July 11th... Can't wait. The price is great too!
-
Dude the Iphone FAILS... had one for a week and it broke =/ Instead of focusing on just applications... try the structure. The public wants a phone that delivers on both ends. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the new one.

hey fareed, try reporting on technology issues in a more substantial way. iPhone reviews and roundups are a dime a dozen.
Use your microphone to talk about technology issues that matter like Net Neutrality. -
Shame that AT&T is the only provider
-
if only the service price would go down.
-
they really need a better delivery stream for Europe for these things.
-
Too bad it still doesn't copy and paste text or allow instant messaging.

The new iPhone costs way less that the old one, not more!
-
Is anyone else thinking that the newer version looks a little cheaper made? If they're asking half the price they had to reduce costs somewhere. My iphone I've dropped once or twice and it's still alive- will the new iphone stand that test?

I miss my iPhone. I came to NYC for a month, wondering how I'd ever lived without an iPhone (speaking of functionality, it was very, very jailbroken). I was never lost, always headed to the right subway station, I looked like I totally knew what I was doing. And then I was mugged at gunpoint!
"Ooh, just in time for the 3G iPhone," a friend said. I hadn't thought of that. Now THAT'S lemonade!
Mr Manjoo, thanks for taking time to explain how the next iteration of the iPhone will differ from the phone we've come to know and adore. P.S. I just renewed my Salon Premium account. -
Apple once again is going to make us go through this trauma again! The iPhone is going to cause all this hype and once again let us down. I like the concept of an iPhone but I don't like the way Apple is creating it, I belive that Apple could do better.

It blows my mind that they can add GPS and 3G but still wont allow for copy and paste, txt message forwarding or landscape text entry mode in email.

There is no more visually appealing phone in my opinion (maybe the HTC Touch Diamond or Touch Pro), but certainly more capable in terms of function.

Well, finally the iPhone is going to have some of the features it was suppose to have had in the first place AND it still lacks some of the BASIC functions of Windows (or even Symbian) based phones. Shame on you Apple for releasing yet another unfinished product!
-
Kinda ticked off at apple if my old iPhone cannot be updated. All these companies are designing for obsolesence! That really gets me mad. The new iLandfill.
-
I own the old iLandfill...I love it for what it is and hate it for what it isn't. Every try to replace the battery?
