In what is thought will become the first prosecution in the U.K. involving pre-release music, a London-based DJ and music critic has been arrested on suspicion of theft and money laundering in connection with his alleged selling of 150 pre-release albums on eBay, according to a statement from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), a record label trade group.

  • Interesting story...

  • as one who is involved in the music industry, i really have no problem with giving away free music. the music industry as we know it is going down down down. the rise of the independents will take over, and big name labels will be a thing of the past. as for what this dj did, it's immoral, and violates all ethics when it comes to someone's art. then again, how many of us out there download free music everyday? i dont mind paying for an album, if i really support the artist, but a lot of music out there isn't really worth buying...

  • Dude! If I can't sell a "Promo" at the local store, you can't sell them online. Shut up and take your "medicine".

  • your comment is one of no intelligence whatsoever, Anyone that starts anything with "Dude" cannot be taken seriously.
Did you dad not hug you enough when you were a kid? Or did he beat the crap out of you when drunk?
Maybe you just have a really narrow minded personality, or lack of any to be telling anyone to "shut up and take your medicine"
Anyways, you are a tool "bro"
    Back to the topic:
profiting like he did is plain wrong, the scene is all about "try before you by" something you cannot do with most records, you hear a song, you like it, you buy the entire album that you could not hear before, and realize the rest sucks ass. Why bother right? Until this changes, things wont
