The tiny stillettos, called Heelarious, are intended for babies up to six months and come in hot pink, black and leopard print.
Britta Bacon and Hayden Porter, the American inventors of the footwear, said the heels are only for show and will collapse if any pressure is put on them.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,So wrong, I just don't know where to start on this one !

Couldn't this be classified as child abuse seeing as their feet are still forming and could be damaged by being forced to wear heels?

Yup, there are health problems involved in this...it's like smoking during pregnancy. Plus it's humiliating!

Woah!!
Dressing your kids up to make them look nice is one thing, dressing them up like a two bob hooker is something else.
On the other hand, I bet the baby boys can't wait for the matching suspenders. :P -

That is so wrong on so many levels.

The heel's collapse under there weight so that they don't have any lasting effect on the child's future development.
Which i personally think is a design fault, its not going to help me get my daughter out earning and contributing to the family coffers any time soon.-

No, no, no. Yuk! I want my children to look like children thanks.
-
wow. people are so eager to show-off how much they know that they don't actually read the article.
as jimmy_underdog correctly cites, the article clearly states that the heels are only for show and will collapse under any sort of pressure.
the developers have obviously released this product with tongue firmly planted in cheek, given the name "heelarious"! it's got not much at all to do with stage parents, child stars or any sort of abuse. hysteria anyone?-

Ugh. Gross; what's next? Baby fishnet stockings and hooker make-up? Sorry, I want my kid deciding to be a whore when she's a little older.

(sigh)

I'm less concerned with these being sold than I am with the type of person that would purchase these actually being part of our society.
-
This is just as creepy as the thongs for five year olds.

so if a child put these on and took two steps, the heels would collapse and the baby would fall and end up with flat shoes?
i don't think that....has any sort of point...
am i missing something? are they just knick-knacks to give a pregant friend you know is a bit of a slut?
hm...-

I think this is a ridiculous idea, but with that being said
The description states that they're intended for babies up to the age of 6 months, thus they won't be getting hurt in any way b/c they won't be walking yet. -
Are you sure these are intenden for children? In China it used to be a "beautiful" tradition. The women would break their toes and bind their feet at a you age to make themselves more appealing to men. If you Google Chinese foot binding you will see the harmful effect of these "heelarious" ways.

It's about time. I'm sick of all these frumpy babies relying on their natural looks. C'mon infants! It's time to accessorize that bib! Look FIERCE!

There must be an unlimited supply of"marketing idiots", in this World!
-
i can't even wear high heals without wanting to kill myself... how do they expect babies who can barely walk to wear those?

I'm not ashamed to say I'm embarassed for America again. After watching American Inventor and seeing the apallingly low ratio of useful ideas to help people versus vapid useless products,(the winner was a new bra versus a fire prevention idea to save lives) gives you insight into the minds of people and how much they have to offer society. I find it repulsive.

bratz is the most evil manifestation of this trend - and the most brilliantly evil thing about bratz is that it isn't discriminatory - there are black bratz dolls , asian-esquse ones , barbie looking ones , and even trailer trash ones - the bratz franchise is politically correct while wanting every pre-pubescent girl to look like a target for pedophiles . beyond being beneath contempt .
-
Ugh! Really? It's pretty gross if you ask me.
Kids, run! Not to fast, though, your might break a heel. :)-

That is horrific i just can't understand why anyone would buy them. What exactly is that saying about parents, what do they want their children to turn into?
