- Keith Olbermann is sexy (6)
We all know Keith can get a little hot headed but I still think he's extremely patriotic, I think he does this because he feels it's a moral imperative, call me naive if you will. Keith always will K.O. the right wingers
"Tonight, a Special Comment on Sen. John McCain’s conclusion that it’s "not too important" when American forces come home from Iraq.
"Thoughts, offered more in sorrow, than in anger. For two full days now, the Senator and his supporters have been outraged at what they see as the subtraction of context from this extraordinary remark.
This is, sadly, the excuse of our time, for everything. Still. If the Senator claims truncation, we will correct that, first.
"A lot of people," Matt Lauer began, "now say the surge is working."
"Anybody who knows the facts on the ground say that," the Senator interjected.
"If it’s now working, Senator," Lauer continued, "do you now have a better estimate of when American forces can come home from Iraq?"
"No," answered McCain. "But that’s not too important. What’s important is the casualties in Iraq. Americans are in South Korea. Americans are in Japan. American troops are in Germany.
That’s all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw. We will be able to withdraw. General Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are. But the key to it is we don’t want any more Americans in harm’s way. And that way they will be safe, and serve our country, and come home with honor and victory — not in defeat, which is what Sen. [Barack] Obama’s proposal would have done. And I’m proud of them, and they’re doing a great job. And we are succeeding. And it’s fascinating that Sen. Obama still doesn’t realize it."
And there is the context of what Sen. McCain said. Well, not quite, Senator.
The full context is that the Iraq you see, is a figment of your imagination. This is not a war about "honor and victory," Sir. This is a war you, and the President you support and seek to succeed, conned this nation into.
Yes, sir. You"."

Keith summed up my feelings about how McCain sees this.
-
It was good to see a journalist be so passionate about making a politician accountable for his words and actions. Keep up the good work Mr. Olbermann.
-
Holy shit. That was the best report I have seen in a long time.
-
Wow! I about cried to see such honesty on television.
-
Patriotism exemplified by dissent.
-
Keith looked like he had gotten emotional by the end of his speech. It's hard not to be filled with anger when you hear this.
-
Keith is the man! here he is showing his true patriotism. god bless him. he seems to care more about america and about the troops than most politicians and fellow journalists
-
One of the most brilliant people to ever grace the screen.
-
I totally heart Keith Olbermann!
-
We need to stay on this cat. The real race begins now, and we need to keep constant conversation going about both candidates platforms, so at the very least, we, as a country, can make informed decisions and, of course, ha, beat down bigots whenever they say something foolish. Let's keep this flow of info going...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT cartoon!!! -- and a great idea, Mr. McCain -- that IS about the only way you'll be bringing the troops 'home'...
Gotta love that Keith Olbermann -- he's so great at cutting through the BS and just listing the facts. Faux News could take a lesson from his book -- if they had any facts to list, that is... lol -
Olbermann is so good at laying the smackdown. Excellent job sir.

Obama/Olbermann 08?
HAHA fuck that -
this man is on fiyaaaah!
he really put everything into "context"...we should have more people like him..he makes me just wanna go out and be somebody -
Mr.Olbermann sees through all the bullshit and lies told by the right wing war profiteers(cheney, bush, etc.)It must m be frustrating, though, that most Americans still trust the typical animated mannequins who are constantly voted into office.Maybe this time will be different. But as long as the existing system with all its built in conservative loopholes prevails, its unlikely things will change.I'm from Florida and learned with absolute certainty that the popular vote means nothing.Bush bought the election, and all the "superdelegates"(puppeteers}rejoiced. And America got dry screwed. Thanks to Keith for trying to get us to see how unjust the system really is.

McCain deserves this and more. Go Olbermann!
-
I have nothing but respect for Mr. Olbermann. He has done nothing but speak the truth and cut through the rhetoric. This country needs a million, no, one hundred million more people who have this same sense of decency and compassion, and common sense!
-
I was above all inspired, then stunned, at how candid and impassioned Keith O. was during his special segment the other night. I couldn't help but rise above my emotions and applaud his - what could've been misconstrued as radical Left-wing rant - extroverted monologue, that viewers were privileged to witness. Keith you rock! And, please, keep it coming! :)

It is clear that McCain is not fit mentally to be leader of this country. He can not remember things that he has said in the past and is constantly changing his "opinions" and his "facts" are NEVER accurate or the same. If he thinks that it is "not that important" when our brave troops COME HOME(NOW), he does not deserve any political respect.

As much as it pains me to say it, I have trouble listening to Keith Olbermann while his eyes trail along the teleprompter.
I agree with everything that he's said. I disagree with the diefication of ANY 'news' anchor in that it takes away from any point they have to make.
Bill O'rielly's followers say, often word for word, the same praises to be found here. MSNBC/Olbermann are not always right. Heated political pandering on EITHER side should be taken with a grain of salt.
I'm not saying what he says is wrong, just that he himself is simply reading a prompter. He used to work for the company he constantly slams.
What he reads does need to be said. Resorting to namecalling, using childish attacks on people and using similar tactics to companies like Fox only degrades such an important message. It will only help fuel the rhetoric of the Right wing.
It would really be nice if they could maintain the balance that Fox pretends to have.
I will give Olberman and his staff credit for using factual information in their speeches, for standing up when they've made a mistake and for attempting to be honest.
But please. We need less fiery rhetoric and more factual and honest presentation.-

Olberman, has a unique way of putting things however educated or not one maybe you understand him. Olberman, thanks for being one that thinks education is the key to success, and not one that sat in class without a clue.
Thanks
