On Friday downtown Des Moines, IA was issued voluntary evacuation due to flooding, as the midwest continues to get pummeled.

I hope this issue gets resolved quickly. An entire state flooded. Iowa grows so much corn. I wonder if this flood will raise the price of corn?

I'm not a religious person but I'm praying that it doesn't rain again this weekend in Iowa. Though I write this from New York, where it is currently raining in sheets, Iowa is and always will be my home. In all my years there, I don't remember ever seeing flooding that even remotely compares. This makes the floods of 1993 look like a summer shower.
