Most consider coming out a challenge in and of itself, but what if you could be court marshaled or even arrested for being gay? Reichen Lehmkuhl shares his story.

i think I alway knew I was gay... my first crush was on another girl when i was 8 and my first love at 13 was too.
My father is an Air Force General so it was a bit hard for him at first but now he is my biggest supporter and even went at it with former Chairman of the Joint Chefs of Staff, Gen Peter Pace when Pace said that he thoughts gays were immoral.
Dad is a product of another time and century, he is a cross between George Patton and Marcus Arielus and
I swear, I think he wanted to challenge the General to a duel at draw with sabers because Dad told Pace that i am one of the most moral people he knows.and was very insulted by his remarks.
But the winds of change are blowing in the Pentagon now as well.... the current Chairman has said that if congress were to end DADT he would be ok with that.-

People have no Idea about the steam roller effect. Too many can talk the talk but not walk the walk. They want to be gay, lesbian or bi but they know that their lives can be ruined but biggets in their lives. Work or church or even landlords and more. People have no clue of what it means to come out of the closet. I did and I lived with the steam roller and lost so much BUT what i gained was worth more then all I lost. I can be honest and not hide as I did before. I can bring my partner to family events and have them share my life in so many ways where i could not before.
I am proud to be a lesbian and no I wasnt made this way from abuse or not having a "real man" to show me what it can be like. that is just so stupid of people to even go there.
God bless all my "family" who have had to live in the closet and to all those who found the courage to come out of the closet..
By the way many would be shocked how many gays and lesbians and bi's server in the Armed Forces right now. My wife is in the reserves and that is the only place we have to hide our life style. Its a shame too she spent her year in the desert and i didnt exist. I didnt get family updates and on the phone or emails we couldnt add i love you sweetheart. She spent her time there and i am damn proud of her in every way for serving her country and i am ashamed that our country cant even serve us the dignity to admit I exsist. but then again i read about when blacks couldnt ride on the bus or eat in a white only diner. yes it is the same exactly the same. Too many are biggets and live in a glass house but have to start throwing stones and anyone diffrent them they are.
YOU ALL ROCK WHO HAVE COME OUT!!!!!
God loves ya!!!
