Protests greet Bush on UK visit
About 2,500 protesters lined up against 1,200 police officers [AFP]
Up to 2,500 demonstrators in Britain have protested against the US president's visit, police say.
The rally was held in London's Parliament Square on Sunday, just 300m from Downing Street, where George Bush was dining with Gordon Brown, the British prime minister.
Protesters called Bush a "terrorist" and voiced their opposition to the so-called war on terror.
A few pelted officers with placards and tried to breach a police cordon set up to block them from getting near the prime minister's Downing Street residence.

Not enough protests take place in the States (at least to my knowledge). Protesting is a sufficient and convenient way of being heard. TOWNSHIP REBELLION!

Them Redcoats better pull together more than 2500. We don't use cannons and muskets now just in case they missed the memo

Why is it that we can't do this here? If there were a protest like that in my state I would be ALL OVER IT. But yeah... of course, there weren't or aren't any that I know of personally. ::sigh::

well done.

America sure could use a few very well organized and very large demonstrations. No doubt about it we need them. A good demonstration is a good demonstration of democracy at work. Democracy is a participation sport people.
-
But people, there *are* protests in America! You just don't get to see them in the mainstream media. Check out: A28.org and Protest.net. I've been to 3: Washington DC, Boston and Kennebunkport when Bush visited with Putin there.
