nVidia and the Computer Graphics Society have announcede the winners of their NVArt Challenge, themed “Art Space: Architecture and Landscape”. It’s truly a mind-blowing fantasy depicted in pictures. Here are some of the most inspiring architectural designs that we won’t probably get to see accomplished.

Why are the creative minds of this world so restricted to drawing what they want to create instead of giving the tools to create.
There are so many places that could benefit from architecture that stands out as unique like Dubai has.
Box buildings are boring. These are astonishing. -
Magnificence like this could become realities if we'd just get the rock, America's Economy, rolling again. As it is now the moss, Corporate Conglomerates and bad Leaders, is choking innovation, exploration, and design.

Some of these designs are great. I also like the first one. I would love to see them actually built the way the picture shows with the background like forests, waterfalls, deserts, and oceans.
If these buildings are built, I will feel like I'm in a fantasy.-

I like those "Atmosphere Emitters," they could be used for when too much Carbon Dioxide is in the atmosphere and we need a completely new one...or we can use it for terraforming.

Aye, if I were an architect, I would make a building in the shape of Einstein's head. That way, they could go inside and finally see what was going on in there...

Consider that such innovative, complex, and costly designs can only be fantasy in America, for now, due to the squandering of so much wealth elsewhere. But, the ultra modern architecture, less boring, more facinating, will someday be a reality...
The penhouse view looks great...I'll take it... -
I much prefer the modern, wood clad, slick, boxy homes.
-
Roger Dean comes to mind.

Where are the trailer park renovations?

Nice but impracticle...
Say you build it ( the art shown here ) how tall is it?
Looks pretty tall to me....
And what happens when it's windy?
Nice art really but build it?
No probably to difficult to build.
Ever see a photo of the "Falling Water" house built over a waterfall?
Nice design but I hear it has problems with leaks of some sort...
Oh well, who said common sense ever prevails?
Have problems with floods?
Now I'm a real compassionate person but
there are good reasons enough for not buying a house in a flood plain!-

This is more like "Creative photoshops of the now". No offense intended to the original publisher of the story here on Current. But I mean, I hang out on Skyscraperpage and Skyscraper City. Most of these designs show little to no actual purpose -- sorta like all those blinking lights on a Star Wars or Star Trek ship. Just a lot of crazy ideas.
if I wanted a crazy photoshop idea, I'd go to Worth1000.com. If I want to see ideas for the future hinged on reality of the now -- I'll contineu to go to the aforementioned forums and check out in-progress builds like the Burj Dubai, or the Russia Tower, the Freedom Tower or the Chicago Spire.
