European researchers havediscovered a batch of three "super-Earths" orbiting a nearby star, and two other solar systems with small planets as well. They said their findings, presented at a conference in France, suggest that Earth-like planets may be very common.

I think this is amazing. It makes the possibility of alien life-forms much more plausible.

The possibility? The reason they don't visit the general public is because we are the only planet, or so I imagine, that has no interplanetary communication or transportation. That's probably because the aliens worry that we'd be the quickdraw mcgraw with our prized nuclear weapons.
Truth is if we continue with war, we will NEVER be an advanced civilization. We are faaaaar behind on the universal scale.
A man was abducted by aliens and they "told" him there ARE several other planets with life, very intelligent life capable of space travel. Are we ashamed yet? I am.
