She is waiting in line for her monthly food ration...she is only ten years old.
With 40% of the population under poverty line, Iran is ranked 27th on the 'list of countries by percentage of population living in poverty' and more and more underprivileged individuals in Iran are turning to private nonprofit charity organizations for help.
Due to the number of people in need, most charity organizations can only afford to give each person less than ten dollars a month, along with some rice and vegetable oil.
What adds to the problem is the number of orphans who rely on these charity organizations as their only source of income and food. Sometimes these young boys and girls, such as the girl in this documentary, also have to find a way to feed their younger siblings.

STOP!!! We're not supposed to see real PEOPLE in Iran.
If we see real people from other parts of the world for what they are... just like us... we'll start to think that they're... just like us.
How can we hate them if they're like us. How can we separate the dictators from the oppressed. If we see them as two separate entities, we'll start to feel for those civilians who are killed by bombs aimed at military targets.
We can't allow humanity to get in the way of war and death. If we see reality, we'll lose perspective and start to feel, instead of just react.
What an awful world it would be if we all had feelings for each other.
Great short, great images. -
Drew.....thanks for sending me this....I agree with you totally......can you imagine?...Adolf Hitler was like this at one time.....an innocent young child.....we must learn to stop the journey from innocence to hearts filled with hatred......it is happening on a grand scale....Americans are doing it and allowing it Worldwide....it must be stopped......act now or react later........Golden Ruler.....Richard......

Yes, thanks, Drew...The dichotomy of the reality of this situation is appalling... The one hostile ideology spending exorbitant sums of taxpayer money promoting and conducting war for elitist hidden agendas and the other non-hostile ideology depending on the funds from charities attempting to promote peace and doing what they can to clean up the caos and destruction left behind...
We must put an end to the vicious cycle...now and for all of the future generations...-

Why does it, have to be so hard for her, and millions like her, starving and barely getting by? I feel for her, it makes me cry, I wish I could bring her here so she could have a better life. I wish this world would change, for the better, balance needs to be restored. I wish I could help, but I barely get by myself, after all the bills are paid. I really am lucky to be an American and I'm so grateful that my Mom did the best she could raising me and I ALWAYS had food on the table growing up. We need to end world hunger now! This is so unnecessary and wrong.

Are you located in Iran?

The 'International Department of Transparency'...IDT, sounds good. Wouldn't that eliminate some hidden agendas...
This story is so heart warming...I'll bet that little girl knows how to stretch every bit of what she's getting. I'll bet they all do...
It's very unique seeing the green clothing among all the black garments...like hope springing forth from the shadows of darkness...the new...the young...yes, hope to bring and end to world hunger...beautiful...-

Isn't charity, or 'zakat' supposed to be obligatory in Islam? Like every religion, people seize upon the elements that suit them and discard the ones that are less convenient.
If only ever jihadi gave real charity, we'd see a whole different Arab world.-
