Al Gore endorses, John McCain talks drilling, and Barack Obama's electoral strategy in terms of furry animals.

I have to say (being over 21 and within the bounds of legality) that cabernet sauvignon and Campaign Update is a great combination.

No, Florida looks bad and Ohio looks very competitive. On average, Obama is leading in Ohio polls, and without the evangelical turnout, increased urban turnout, no S.O.S./Campaign Co-Chair* for McCain, and a popular Democratic governor as Obama's chief state surrogate, my guess is that Ohio leans Democratic.
My guess is that Obama will win all the states that Kerry did while flipping Iowa, Colorado, New Mexico, Ohio, and maybe Nevada and Virginia. He should be able to make the Republicans defend North Carolina and Indiana. On the other hand, McCain could flip Michigan and New Hampshire (they have an irrational affection for him there). One intriguing possibility is a 269-269 electoral college tie, which goes to the House and therefore Obama. Realclearpolitics.com has an electoral map you can play around with and look at previous election results.
*-Like Katherine Harris, the Florida state chair of the Bush/Cheney campaign who was also Secretary of State in 2000, our chief elections official, Ken Blackwell, was chair of the Bush/Cheney campaign in Ohio in 2004. Shenanigans followed, but luckily, as did Katherine Harris' senate race in 2006 (she gave her interviews in profile!), Blackwell's gubernatorial campaign crashed and burned. Our current Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, is great (I went to a fundraiser for her that had an open bar and since then she's had my unquestioning loyalty), though the GOP state legislature has tried to block attempts to fix our electoral problems. -

Wow Al Gore, first the High-Performance Computing Act in 1991, thereby inventing the internet as we know it, now chairing current! could he be more bad ass? maybe if he kept his beard...

So what im wondering is:
Is the reason i didnt see any traction regarding Gore supports Obama on the main news page some kind of conflict of interest and does that cause current not to cover it as aggressivly as other media outlets might? -
Nice lemur. *thumbs up*
