Obama is doing well, very well, he is not only leading in states Kerry won, but he is doing well in Ohio and Florida as well. Below is a great website that puts this upcoming election into a great perspective.

Sen. Barack Obama is leading Sen. John McCain in the crucial swing states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, according to a new survey.

Obama lost the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania by 9 percentage points. But a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday shows him leading McCain by 12 points, 52 to 40 percent.

In Ohio, a state Obama lost to Sen. Hillary Clinton by 10 points in March, he's leading McCain 48 to 42 percent.

And in Florida, where he did not campaign this primary season and lost an unsanctioned Democratic contest, he leads McCain 47 to 43 percent.

The Ohio and Florida results are reversals from Quinnipiac polls published a month ago, when Clinton was still in the race and McCain led Obama in hypothetical match-ups.

In the waning days of her campaign, Clinton argued to voters and superdelegates that she should be the nominee because she was the stronger candidate to beat McCain in these swing states during the general election.

  • I expect things will go well for Obama this election. It is going to be very hard to hide the gaffes McCain Makes just because the main stream corporate media refuses to cover it. There are too many video cameras, You Tube, Current and sites like them. The Internet will be where the information gets out, truth. After a while it becomes common knowledge. So even people that don't read the news there will get it. They might control the main stream but we have the Internet, and it's growing every day.
  • Don't get too excited by a couple of polls. I think Obama has the advantage in Pennsylvania and Ohio, but McCain is still strong in Florida (though maybe his recent flip-flop on coastal drilling will hurt him there). Obama still has a lot of work to do to make up for the unfortunate primary mess in Florida and Michigan, but he'll have a lot of help from Bush and McCain.

  • I agree with Brendan, I think Offshore drilling will hurt McCain in Lousiana, Florida, and New Jersey states he needs to win in the fall.

  • I live in South Carolina and in the primaries Obama had twice the voter turnout that Mccain had. Even Clinton had as many votes as Mccain here. Don't mark us as red yet.

  • Weren't they saying this about Kerry in '04, and Gore in Ancient Times?

  • Sucks that my state is for McCain, he's the only candidate I find worse than Obama...and that says a lot.
  • I think it will be Obama in a landslide they can't cheat their way out of!
  • My hopes are that the first televised debate will show how much of a better candidate Obama is. I find it sad that his opponents have to dig pretty deep to find things to hate about him. Visit FightTheSmears.com to find out what is actually the truth and who is behind the lies out there.

If you want to know what Obama is about then google his Blueprint for Change. It has his policies on pretty much everything.

I am voting for Diplomacy, equal and quality education for all, development of renewable and green technologies and a responsible end to an unnecessary war, this coming from a reformed Republican (World, I'm deeply, deeply sorry! I was young and stupid then...and in Texas).

    What are you voting for?

  • that shit about florida is a lie too

  • This again means nothing. History shows that Democrats tend to lose when predicts start to favor them, so don't bother reading any news about it until after the elections are over.

  • This is great, but I am not greenlighting it. We must have the voters on election day. We don't need everyone thinking Obama has got this one wrapped up.

  • Republicans = Baathists

McCaine better order a ticket back to Arizona to save some money.
  • I hope the American people see Mc cain and Bush for what they really are.But something tells me that it will have a repeat of the 2000 and 2004 election. To choose Mc Cain will permenately damage the American Economy. Which is on it's kness because of Bush's Policies.

  • Obama needs to break that vertical chain running exactly where the Bush pipeline is being built.

Look at it like tic-tac-toe, the red has a line straight up and down. This is danger dividing our nation.

We need to do everything we can to inform the people in the RED danger zones of what is really happening in the world.
  • With your mind:

Draw a BLUE line connecting MAINE to CALIFORNIA

    We can do it...
  • After calling the people of the state of Pennsylvania bitter and clinging to guns and religion, he's leading by 12 points. After conspiring with the DNC to disenfranchise their votes, he's leading Florida. Excuse me...cough...cough..BULLSHIT..cough.
    JohnA
  • John A, Obama disenfranchised no one. Florida and Michigan disenfranchised themselves, and the fact that he leads there is a testament to the fact that the voters there understand that and support him.

  • The only poll that matters is on election day. All of these other polls and speculation are simply a waste of time. Time that could be spent on issues and actually vetting these candidates. As it is, Obama today reneged on his promise to accept public financing for the general election. How many more times will we see that? And if Obama even wins in a 'landslide,' that doesn't mean there wasn't election fraud. So if he 'wins' I suppose Democrats won' t care if there was fraud as long as he wins? And yes they did say the same in 2004 and 2000... matter of fact the media stated Bush would win the popular vote in 2000. A big reason why polls are crap. There are still five months to go and anything can happen.

  • It is true that polls are only speculation, however polls are still an indication of where voters lean,
    .
And I really don't give a damn if Obama uses public funding.
    current89
  • Of course Obama will win. Doesn't mean we don't have to work our asses off to make it happen though.

There are a lot of ignorant, uneducated blind sheep out there... They'd vote for a pile of shit if it had an "R" on it and waved an American flag...

    and they breed like flies!

Let's overcome all the WalMart shoppers out there and prove that America is better than guns, ignorance, and hatred...

PEACE AND VICTORY TO THE LOVING WORLD!

  • I know this will get me flamed, but..

    McCain '08!

Yes, he's got quite a temper and says offensive things every couple of years. But so did Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman etc.

I wish everyone would actually look into Obama's past. The guy went to a completely racist church for decades, then left because people found out. He's got ties to unsavory groups in Chicago. AND he's been on the Senate for only 3 years!

Not to mention that McCain's pretty much been ahead of the curve on the issues, like the surge (it's working), and the fact that building a wall on the border is just plain silly.

  • It all depends on the media. They can turn the election any way they want in five minutes. Their social scientists know exactly how to play each segment of the public, and in three minutes they had Obama's young supporters copying their anti Clinton name calling and childish insults.
We'll have to wait and see. Now that the media have got Hillary out of the way, we should start to see clues of who they really want.

  • Better yet each do a 1 hour power point or something and put 'em back to back on a dvd. That would be more informative than the hours of yada yada yada from the fear mongering news salesmen.

  • It is unreasonable to think race will not play an issue. I will likely vote for Obama in spite of racial issues.

I hope it is not just me who has evolved in the "white rual south".

I have a friend who jost moved to the south from New Jersey (damn yankee) who says as far as he can see we are less predudice than most of the north.

  • Living in Europe, I get a lot of my news from 'outside' sources, and so far in my eyes this election is looking like an Obama Landslide. Am I wrong? Neither are very well affiliated with the Bible votes anymore, so is this just down to racism or party pride? Can someone tell me a good trait of McCain, I haven't been able to find any.
