The FISA compromise: If Bush said it was OK to violate the Constitution, everyone is off the hook. Bush's words are law, the *definition* of monarchy. The vote is tomorrow. Call Congress & stop this!

  • I live in Illinois. One of my senators is Obama. I just tried to call his office with two different numbers, (202) 224-2854 and (202) 224-3121. Both ways went to an answering machine that said his message box was full, "GOODBYE". Even Dick Durbin has a live person answering calls. Obama is a millionaire AND he is running for president. You would think he would be a little more accessible to his contingency. I would like my opinion to be heard since all these CROOKS in Illinois and Washington have ruined our lives through their bugging, harassment, torture, etc.
The Capitol switchboard number is: (202) 224- 3121. I hope you have better luck than I did getting through.

  • This is a huge issue for our generation. Telecomms with vast control over the market, teaming up with the government to spy on us is bad news. Not just for our civil liberties. These types of relationships threaten our freedom to even use the internet *cough *cough bye bye net neutrality.

  • I emailed my congressman about this issue and all that I got was a detailed history of the bills thay passed through congress in recent years.

  • The only situation in which the congress people will listen to their constituents is if their salary was dependent on how much they actually represented us. I wish there was a law that gives congress people a certain amount of money for each vote that is actually supported by the good people who voted them into office.

Go ahead and call them. They have demonstrated how much they actually care by continually voting for things that most Americans don't want.

  • WARNING OUR GOVERNMENT MAY BE LISTENING/READING IN

    PARDON MY CURSING HERE BUT
    THIS SHIT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
how many times do we have to write and call, vote in or out, members of Congress telling them ...
    NO WARRANTLESS WIRETAPPING
    NO BLANKET IMMUNITY. PERIOD

Why do they keep thinking that if they let it linger long enough that we will stop paying attention to what happens regarding this most egregious violation of our fourth amendment right provided for in the United States Constitution? Are we really going to have to take to the streets in riot?

I write and call Congress every day regarding this it has become part of my morning routine...Every phone call I make now and every email I send even just to friends, I either speak or write..."warning our government may be listening/reading"...

I urge all fellow current users to do the same
    this fascism must end.

  • HR 6304 the Hoyer/Bush FISA compromise deal is completely unacceptable.

  • The constitution apparently doesn't mean anything does it. "congress shall pass no ex-post facto law" . But then its pretty obvious that it hasn't meant anything for several years now.

  • There is no accountability in this country anymore is there?

  • Just more proof that congress no longer represents the people, but the corporate interests. No taxation without direct representation, right? Well, the internet is giving us an amazing capability to lend a singular voice to the citizens of this country; to PROVE that congress does not represent the people any longer. Use it, do something, make it stop!
