CBS News chief foreign correspondent Lara Logan has some very harsh words for what passes as news in the U.S.

Thanks Future Amer. for bring this and thank Jon Stewart for being one of the few Americans who tell real news even though they are a spoof off the real news. Sadder is that the majority of Americans still watch TV news.

im glad she feels like that and it wasnt just me, its even better that Jon is just as open to hear what she says instead of arguing (o'Riely) her point. and i believe in her point of view
-
It's independant media for me. Boycott the big three!
-
I was moved by her experiences while covering Iraq she has seen so much...we dont know as much as we could!
-
I work at a CBS affiliate, and after watching Lara Logan report from Iraq nightly, she quickly won my respect with her Iraq coverage. She is direct, involved, and all the time she's been here has allowed her distance from the lenses this country puts on most reporters. It's sad so often her efforts are overlooked.

It's truly a shame that the editors, producers and executives don't have her kind of courage to put the stories she goes through all that stuff for to put them on the news
-
I've never seen the Daily Show's guest make the show get that tense.

funny how we are able to get less bias and sensational news from the comedy shows
-
I know this is just a negative comment, but, I hate O'reily with such a fiery passion, the energy generated could power Tokyo for 10 whole minutes.
-
we need more people like her in the media. and more jon stewarts for that matter
-
thankyou lara!

Damn.. she knows her stuff! And she has a cool ass voice!

Finally someone speaks out about the poor quality of the "news" broadcast throughout the U.S. It disgusts me that an R. Kelly trial recieves more media coverage. Unfortunately we will never know what is truly happening unless we witnessed it first hand but until then there are always other media outlets like BBC and Al Jazeera, which allow us to see different perspectives. I've been watching Al Jazeera for a few years now and it is quite graphic, but I would rather see the truth than be naive about the extent of the matter.

She is a fabulous woman! It is great to see a women with such a great sense of logic and humanity talking on the air. I am also happy we have many great Women here at Current Networks that are a blessing as well not settling for that Corporate News Manipulation out there!
-
Why can't we have someone like her as a news anchor? I guess because she wouldn't stand for the suppression of the news like the others.

Why aren't there more individuals like her in the press?
I'm so sick and tired of what we pass off as journalists today. It absolutely disgusts me.
Any time a news anchor uses the phrase "I think" in relation to a news story I lose respect for them.
They are supposed to be unbiased, report the facts, and let us come to our own conclusions.
It's unfortunate, but almost all news outlets today enforce their own agenda in some way.
Even my beloved Current. . . -
I like - and agree - with the "hotties" tag.

This made me cry. Democracy is crippled in America when reporters can't do their jobs.
-
Soldiers are DYING everyday! And now at the cost of our soldiers lives we are gonna go after Iran and secure our presence in the Middle East by setting up base camps and setting up more oil rigs! F**K this war, F**K big oil, F**K Bush and F**K whoever becomes president and continues this war , continues big oil drilling and continues the threat of "terrorism" on our country when it's obvious WE are a terrorist threat to the world!!
Real Eyes- Realize- Real Lies -
Thank you Lara Logan and Jon Stewart.
This is important to state.
Can't be too much more of this environment that makes this junk news possible.-

The sterilized news is only so reliable. It's sad that we get the non-watered-down side of the world on comedy central. We need more reliable sources and not news that is worried about ratings.

The media controls the minds of the masses! They load the clip in omnicolour, said they pack the 9 ,they fire it at prime time, sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatraz, and mutha f@**kas lost their minds, no escape from the mass mind rape, play it again jack and then rewind the tape and play it again and again until ya mind is locked in, believing all the lies that they tellin' ya buying all the products that they're sellin' ya, they say jump and you say how high ya brain dead ya got a f@**ing bullet in ya head! Just victims of the in-house drive by, they say jump you say how high........

So now, is HER life in danger?
Do you realize how many journalist have been killed by "friendly fire"?
Who says that we can't GET a news report about the caskets that return with some unemployed young people in it? Who says that we can't get news coverage like that? If we are "supporting the troops", how come we can't GET that news, and how COME when they COME back alive, they get treated like an ugly redheaded step child by my government? I work with veterans, and they tell me that they are going to get medical care for combat related ailments only for so long, and they after 5 years or so, they will have to figure out how to pay for medical care on their own.
We have, somehow got ourselves into a situation that we have no power, as ordinary citizens. How the hell did that happen? -
It willl be hard to replace Tim Russert, but how about Lara Logan to be the next "Meet the Press" anchor?
-

more honesty is what we need, and she is definitely not afraid to give her opinion and tell her experiences as they actually occurred. censorship sucks. theres also a big problem with diversity in the media and how different view points are represented. the majority of who i see reporting news on tv are white men and the occasional white women, not that all of them are bad but there just needs to be more representation of all of the people who live in america, that's why this sight is so amazing.

But I want to hear about Michelle Obama's appearance on The View!
-
I would've loved to see a colbert/stewart ticket. As well, I agree, I don't watch the news anymore and this is just ridiculous what we pass off for NEWS it's not NEWs, it's OLD's, I already know this dumb shit they keep feeding me.
-
Everything she said is so true.
when fox news stared broadcasting in Europe I used to watch it a bit for comedy value, this is before I had Bband internet and youtube and knew who Bill o Reilly was.
We (my brothers and I) would sit and laugh at it. the sheer idiocy of the news.
It was only later that it dawned on me that a lot of people probably watch that station and don't do so in the manner my family do.
American flags everywhere, actually seriously meaning a redundant phrase like "the war on terrorism" when they say it.
How the motherfuck can you fight a war against an idea?
Especially an idea brought about by actions such as fighting wars.
I saw this video on Digg and the comments were so idiotic after it.
All commenting on her looks, missing her message which was basically about the truth either not being shown or not been seen when it is shown due to distractions.
Though yes she is clearly beautiful and Smart and that is the combo i like best...;) but what is truly beautiful is the fact that she is a Journo for american TV and not stereotypical.
BBC, RTE, FRANCE24, EuroNews, and others are good sources of news.
It's sad to say but the only time I've seen decent reporting/something interestiing is on Jon Stewart's show.-
