'Cause Ron Paul is obviously the dream candidate. Why have any governmental restrictions? We should be FREEEEEE!!! No one has the right to tell me what to do! I don't need to pay taxes, and no one should be forced to help others! Freedom and liberty!
The problem with Paul's libertarian message is that freedom mustn't be absolute. Thaat is what you call anarchy. We must have governmental restrictions and regulations on society, so that we may maintain a strong, consistant nation. The government must not be too powerful, so as to avoid corruption, but must have enough power to prevent corruption in other areas. Paul proposes stripping the central government of many crucial powers, which would cripple our nation. The forefathers realized that we need to balance freedom with safety, and liberty with equality. The individual should not overpower the union, and vica-versa. -
I watched the links, from this article, leading to the anti Obama sentiment. There is nothing wrong with ambition. People borrow ideas and sent out the same messages, in all forms of art. Public speaking is a highly rehearsed art form, and his skills in that cannot be denied. I find it funny that nothing is shown on the McCains. You have to play the game, to get a chance to change it. If he didn't go the route he did, whether you agree with him or not, he would not have even had the platform he does now to become the democratic nominee. I'm laughing if this is the worst they can dig up on the Obamas.

@ dco, "...if anything we need more government."
Along with "The Revolution: A Manifesto" I would also suggest Nobel laureate economist F.A. Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom." Are we ready to continue the trend shown in the graph and tread into the murky territory of socialism?
The average American already works 113 days (or almost 4 months) to pay for state and federal taxes.

Consider also the practically criminal inflation tax imposed on us that is constantly eroding our purchasing power. Our dollar is now worth about: 4 cents compared to the 1913 dollar; 19 cents compared to the 1971 dollar, and; 80 cents compared to the 2000 dollar! Government will never be able to match the efficiency of the free market. It should never be in the business of subsidizing any industry. They have bred a dangerous strain of corporatism by doing so. Government's interference in industry should be focused on breaking trusts, punishing fraudulent businesses etc.
Paul is NOT an "isolationist." What is so wrong with wanting free and fair trade with all nations yet staying out of their internal affairs? If we want to make the world a better place shouldn't we start by trying to lead by example instead of trying to democratize nations at the barrel of a gun or bolstering harsh regimes with misspent foreign aid?
By the way, I'm sure that Thomas Jefferson would just delight in your sentiment: "The 'get the government out of my backyard' ideology must be extinguised."
"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
~ Thomas Jefferson
"In a country where the sole employer is the State, opposition means death by slow starvation. The old principle: who does not work shall not eat, has been replaced by a new one: who does not obey shall not eat."
~ Leon Trotsky
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
~ Lord Acton -

Obviously you care enough to post that stupid video, Ron Paul losing? Really, did anyone ever think he was going to win? I didn't because I know most Americans are ignorant and were going to fall for the marketing of the same old, same old politicians promising change.
I like Ron Paul because he wasn't afraid to speak the truth and the truth is something to pay attention to. Shame on you for not seeing the truth. By the way I can't wait until the videos come out in 4 years when we see who's ignorant and who isn't.-
