A raid on underage drinkers in the Mexican capital last night has led to at least 12 deaths caused by crushing and asphyxiation, as over 1,000 young party-goers rushed to get out of a crowded nightclub. Nine youths, including several minors, and three police officers suffocated in the scramble to leave the News Divine disco after a tip-off from its owner that police were in the building. The emergency exit was partly blocked by boxes.
Police arrested more than 30 youths and the nightclub's owner. Selling alcohol to people under 18 is illegal in Mexico and nightclubs are only allowed to operate within certain time limits. However, those laws are largely ignored by bar and nightclub owners.

Nobody cares in Mexico, there mindset is let me live how I want to live, and we won't have any problems, and that's how it should be

This is horrible.
You have 12 and a 13 year old dead because people had to rush out.
It may have been stupid for anyone underage to celebrate the end of a school year in a place they knew they shouldn't be......
but....
It is mistake to have blocked the door with a case of beer. It was a mistake to have 500+ people in one area. It was inadaquet to keep the safety of the patrons.
It's beyond tragic because it could have simply been avoided if people did not make such stupid decisions. Telling 500+ people that they have the chance of being arrested because the police are coming is so stupid. Could not those in charge see what would happen, what kind of panic they were to cause with such a statement?
There is a reason why here in America it is against the law to yell fire in a crowded area....it should also be against the law to shout raid if it is to endanger the lives of so many people, especially innocent children happy that they have Summer vacation. -
That is fucking terrible.
That's the first thing in a long while that has genuinely shocked me.
When I used to go to the underage discos there was no alcohol sold but of course a lot of drinking would have been done earlier. its just being a teen.
Why did the police need to raid this place?
If they had burst in there they kids still would have run....I mean does no-one think this stuff through?-
